It rained all night, though it looks like the rain will end in about 20 minutes.  Some wind -- on the whole I'd say we got off pretty lightly.

And I get to partake of HR training this morning for 3 hours. I'm halfway tempted to ask someone to call in a bomb threat.....

I may be willing to trade you that, for supervising a kindergartner for 3 hours of online kindergarten.  Let me think about it a bit.

Oh, Joy!

All those classes at my current gig are online. HR, legal, harassment and you on many of them play the class in one window, work in another.

So, Scientific American, which in its 145-year history (the oldest continually-published magazine in the US) has never made a political endorsement, has endorsed Joe Biden for president.  Because pandemic and global warming.

Some nights, I play the sounds of thunderstorms to help me sleep. Last night I just opened the window. I slept so well, in fact, that I slept through two meetings this morning.  I'm hoping no one noticed.

Scientific American went Prog years ago (in addition to passing from a truly "hard science" publication, to something more akin to Popular Science), so it's not surprising.  Still, it's a sort of "grim milestone".

Some nights, I still sleep on the beach

Remember when stars were in reach

I wander in early to work

Spend my days licking boots for my perks

I'd almost welcome it if my employer tried that crap.

I'd sue their asses (hostile work environment, racial angle) and retire early with my settlement/winnings.

I was that earlier.

Yeah, that's not creepy at all, is it.

Wow.

You can smell the fear... we're not supposed to speak ill of George Soros!  Remember our orders!.

I do hope that Newt, at least, will speak loudly and clearly about this.

I think you mean 233 years ago today; it was signed in 1787.

Interestingly---to me, anyway---I have a silver shilling and sixpence of George III (hand-struck, of course) from 1787, which is kind of cool.

Oh, I was a coin collector back in the day.  I probably got it back in '64, when I was in England; I have a series of British Mandate-era "Palestinian" coins, too---and a Queen Victoria sovereign (young head) and half-sovereign (old head) from that period, too.

Multiple sources, including the suspect's mother, confirmed to KOMO News that the alleged killer was Berge, who has been profiled in the past by KOMO News and has more than 35 arrests and multiple convictions. He has told KOMO News in the past the he knew how to beat the criminal justice system.

Home phone has been ringing once, then no more rings. Can pick up the phone and connect; can make outgoing calls; DSL works just fine.

Disconnected the house wiring at the interface box, same problem. (I have an old corded phone to plug in there) so it is on their side. Tech coming tomorrow! Faster than usual for Verizon,

BLM founder's project funded by China

Wouldn't be surprised if the whole BLM movement doesn't have Chinese funding

A group led by one of the founders of Black Lives Matter has ties to a progressive pro-China organization that acts as a fiscal sponsor to the group, according to a new report by a conservative think tank.

Black Futures Lab, which says it “works with Black people to transform our communities, building Black political power and changing the way that power operates – locally, statewide and nationally,” is headed by Alicia Garza – one of the co-founders of Black Lives Matter.

But a new Heritage Foundation investigation has found that the Black Futures Lab's website says the group is a project of a pro-China group called the Chinese Progressive Association.

*Black Futures Lab is a fiscally sponsored project of the Chinese Progressive Association,” the “Donate” section of the website says. Clicking on the banner on the page takes the user to the CPA website.

The CPA was founded in 1972 and says it “educates, organizes and empowers the low-income and working-class immigrant Chinese community in San Francisco to build collective power with other oppressed communities to demand better living and working conditions and justice for all people.”

But the Heritage Foundation describes it as an organization that has long supported the communist government in Beijing.
