Well, Morning Sedition was really off the rails today.

They were talking, first, about yesterday having been "International Sex Workers' Rights Day" (who knew? who cares?), and going on about both the terrible travails of sex workers, being as how they're in a line of endeavor in which "social distancing" is...difficult at best, and how there are initiatives in various states and, yes, even at the federal level, to decriminalize/legalize this noble profession.

Then there was the parade of stories about how everything disadvantages "people of color" more.  That standard joke from a few years ago about "world ends---women, the poor, and minorities hardest hit" has become the default level of reportage for everything on NPR.

The crowning glory, however, was the reporting on the "projected unrest" in DC, and how the National Guard troops there are "on high alert"---and the Congress staying away from the Capitol---because of some supposed QAnon insurrection that is expected today on the grounds that March 4th ("March Forth!"), being the old original Inauguration Day, is the day that President Trump will return, like King Arthur, and re-take the government.  That's loopy even for "QAnon followers," if such actually exist in any quantities---about which I am skeptical.  But, wait! There's more! After blathering on about this alleged threat---based, we are assured, on "credible intelligence"---it appears that this dreaded insurrection might not be happening after all, because the alleged "QAnon militias," which are so crazy, we are assured, as to believe this, might actually believe that this whole projected "insurrection" is a false-flag cooked up by the Deep State.

So---if it happens, there's proof-positive of the QAnon crazies out there. But if it doesn't happen, that shows that these alleged QAnon forces are still out there, and even crazier, for believing this other alleged conspiracy theory.  It reminds one of the constant ascription of things to the "agents of Goldstein" in 1984.

I suspect that, to the extent they exist, they are a tiny little knot of wholly insignificant people.  They're being blown up into a cardboard bogeyman by the media and organizations like the SPLC, who need a bogeyman both for "news reportage" and for fundraising.

Are they insignificant? Yes, no doubt; these are people who aren't in any positions of power. Are they a tiny knot of people? That I doubt, simply based on the number of Q supporters who have responded to twitter posts that Q has called out. 

But they definitely are a useful straw man for any number of reasons.

I know it's totally politically-correct to refer to black people as "Black" (must be capitalized, by the way, unlike mere "white"); and to Latinos as "brown" (or "Brown"?  I'm not sure about that inish cap).

But Native Americans should be referred to, color-wise, as...?

And Asians as...  ?

/watch them tie themsevles in knots over this
