Good morning, everyone. I don't know about the rest of the nation, but here in the midwest it feels like fall already with los and lots of rain and cooler temperatures.

I'm seeing articles (and thread reader pages) trying to get people to wake up and realize that the biggest threat from the federal government is the so-called intelligence branch, which makes sure that only the correct folks end up getting federal government jobs and protects itself at all costs, to the point where they truly control Washington. I also saw an article noting that if Pennsylvania tries to perform this election audit in five counties  (with the most issues being in Philadelphia), the Dems might start holding severe riots (using the BLM activists)  in the state to make them stop. Already Placeholder Biden has said he's going to go to Philadelphia this week, although no specific schedule has been released yet.

Does this qualify as living in "interesting times"?

Rain here, yes.  Temps?  Uh, not exactly fall-like,  Highs projected in upper 80s to low 90s all week,

Good morning.

Doesn't look like they handled anything well on this flight:

Another person responded to the video of the flight and tweeted a woman on a flight she was on spent over an hour screaming and had to be duct taped to her seat but it was not clear if she was referring to the same American Airlines flight.
Duct taping a woman to her seat? How was that going to make her stop screaming?

If this comment in the story is accurate, perhaps this wasn't out of line:

The woman who was duct taped to her seat was allegedly attempting to open the entry doors mid-flight and bit a flight attendant who tried to stop her. If that is the case, she 100% deserved to be duct taped to her seat.
I'm not sure what you could do with a passenger who was trying to open an airplane door in mid-flight.

Duct-tape her to the seat, of course.

If she was really trying to open the door, the measure was justified (though I would have thought that airlines would by now have on-board some rather more professional means of restraining a dangerous passenger, sheesh).

Right. Are zip ties used by law enforcement considered inappropriate for airline use?

I have no idea.

Freezing the unruly passenger in carbonite would be another option.

i can only recall once in my life witnessing an unruly passenger being removed from a commercial plane.  This was on an American Airlines flight, waiting to depart from Buenos Aires, around 2010.  I boarded and took my seat in Business Class; lucky for me that I was so comfortably seated, because we... just sat there, for quite some time.  One of the flight attendants, who was quite nice and friendly, let me in on what was happening; a woman in Coach was apparently behaving erratically, and had thrown some small object at a flight attendant.  And we.... sat, and waited, and waited.  At leat a half hour went by with seemingly nothing happening.  Then, a bunch of Argentinan cops boarded, passed through to the back, and... nothing happened.  About 15 minutes later, they all trooped out again, empty-handed.  Some time later, AA personnel from the terminal boarded and went back; then, finally, maybe 10 minutes later, proceeded out, with this smallish, middle-aged woman gently in tow, who was crying and saying she was sorry.

The friendly flight attendant also informed me that Al Gore and a small retinue were on the same flight, in First Class (naturally), and that they would not board until the whole thing was resolved and the passenger taken off.  We shared an eye-rolling moment over Al Gore.

I wonder if this sort if thing is happening more often lately. My daughter's flight from Reno to DC via Phoenix had to be diverted to Las Vegas due to unruly passengers last week. She missed her connection in Phoenix so they routed her from Vegas to JFK to DC. JFK was also delayed so it took her over 24 hours to get home. As a matter if fact it was American, how did you know?

Did she say what the passenger was doing?  (If she could see/hear it.)

She couldn't see or hear much but it seemed to be an altercation of some sort. I tried to find a news story about but no luck.

Actually in the office today setting up computers for remote team members.

As to the AA flight. I thought zip ties were standard equipment on planes along with straps to hogtie a person.

As long as the plane is pressurized it is impossible to open the door. The door seals from the inside against the fuselage so that the pressure holds it against the gaskets. Even a half pound of pressure differential would have 3/4 of a ton of force holding the door closed.

Good to know--but then, the flight attendants should know this as well, yes? So perhaps said person wasn't a safety risk so much as an irritant to the passengers.

Freaks other passengers out to have someone yanking on the door, never know what their next move might be.

Yep, but nevertheless someone trying to do that is a clear and present danger.

Really, any American Motors Corp. vehicle on the wing would be of concern...
