Well, Ida certainly left some glorious weather here in her wake.  Sunny and 67 degrees at the moment.  Good morning to all.

Meanwhile, Taliban are upset that at least some of the helicopters we left behind were disabled by US forces.

And for some reason the description of the Taliban feeling "upset and betrayed"  reminds me of this scene, particularly starting at about 5;50.

Buzzsawmonkey: Given the confirmed reports that the Biden Adminstration actually provided the names and biometric data of  stranded Americans and Afghan allies to the Taliban, I think there's an "I've Got a Little List"  parody waiting to be born here.

Guess who got some of the equipment we left behind in Afghanistan?

US forces left Afghanistan

To the mercies of the Taliban

And many a shipment

Of US equipment

Has now made its way to Iran.

Some years back, Obama suggested that it wasn't fair that US armed forces were better-equipped than their potential adversaries.

Joe Biden is, FINALLY, doing something concrete about that inequity.

How long before they offer Iran nukes in return for stopping their nuclear program?

That's the same idiocy as the "disproportional response" gurglings that surface every time Israel responds to a barrage of Hamas rockets.

Lots of news---NPR in particular, of course---has been whooping it up about "climate change" because of the recent hurricanes, floods, etc., etc., etc.   They're especially keen on pushing for a rush to enact various "climate change" measures.

Lost in the clamor of all this yammering is the fact that there is nothing we can do to prevent/stop hurricanes, or flooding for that matter---and not only can we not stop it, we do not seem to have the capability of proofing our residential areas against the effects of flooding.  We can't keep the subways running.  We can't keep the water purified or the power on.

Yet some people think that we can control the "climate" of the planet?

It's clear they think that by jetting off to distant locales to attend Climate Change Summits, staying in expensive hotels, eating expensive food, and writing lots of words about caring about the climate *is* controlling the climate.

There are groups that complain that Israel protects its citizens with Iron Dome and bomb shelters that Hamas doesn't have. Well, Hamas does have bomb shelters in places like hospitals, but those are for Hamas leadership.

BTW, something like 1/3 or more of the Gazan casualties last May were due to errant Hamas rockets. The media, especially the NY Times, blames those on Israel, too.

Climate is a public health matter.... I hearing that. Gov. Stupid and Lazy here in WA likes that line.

Declare climate change a public health emergency and they can decree whatever the hell they want.

Don't forget about their having shot and killed a number of rescue dogs in a shelter, lest people coming in to consider adopting them spread covid thereby.  I think that was in New South Wales.

I heard about the equipment yesterday, on Twitter.  According to that writer/historian, Iran got a deal and only had to pay approximately 1/4 of what they're worth to the Taliban.

Why can't I get in on this deal?

I have about 800 rounds of ammo in my possession, and have not-shot anyone with each one of them.  At $300 each, that's $240,000.  Not bad for a day's non-work.
