"Theodore Dalrymple"  on "learned stupidity".

"I would like to extend this observation to a condition of learned stupidity, that is to say the stupidity of people who are by no means lacking in intelligence but who nevertheless make stupid decisions that people of lesser or even much lesser intelligence can see at once are stupid. Learned stupidity explains how and why highly intelligent people, faced with a choice, repeatedly choose a stupid, if not the most stupid, option, time after time.

In order for people to learn to be stupid in this sense, they must both undergo a prolonged education or training and be obliged to perform acts or carry out procedures that do not engage their intelligence and may even be repugnant to it, while simultaneously being under surveillance for compliance and conformity."

See, e.g.; Left/liberals I know personally, who in most respects of normal day-to-day life are reasonably intelligent people, and who are also seemingly convinced that, e.g., the greatest threat to black people in the United States is lynching by right-wing white supremacists.

... and who therefore vote, time after time, for politicians who promise to tackle this almost-entirely-phantom problem.

Learned stupidity.... I like that.

I'm always puzzled by many of the engineers I work with, brilliant people, many PhDs, multiple patents to their names etc.... extremely data driven at work.

Outside work, believe every leftist trope there is.

Buckey’s observation about the faculty of Harvard versus the Boston telephone directory comes to mind.

They were babbling on the radio today about making health insurers pay for something like 8 covid tests for policyholders.

I'm beginning to wonder whether all these testing mandates are actually a cover/pretext for some kind of nonconstitutional census.  Certainly we're trending towards a division between the vaxxed-and-provably-recently-tested ubermenschen and the unvaxxed-and-or-not-recently-tested untermenschen, with "papers" (or cellphone verifications) to match---and what better way to track everyone's every movement than to require that they submit to frequent "testing?"

Based on what is happening in Australia, Austria, and a few other European countries, they absolutely want to convert our ability to get medical care to a system like China's social credit system, complete with documents available via your phone or a chip that it is inserted in you.

The call now to say that the unvaxxed should not get medical care disgusts me. Illegal aliens can come in and get everything they need and more, but those of us who have been here and paid into the whole system get nothing? It completely flips the benefits of citizenship on its head. Rome had nothing on us.

What happened to "Health Care is a Right"? Never mind the fallacy of the statement. My body my choice is out the window, with the injection. Now health care?

Their are pushing their entire agenda behind the smoke screen of COVID. Which lends credence to the intentional release of COVID conspiracy.

Via Insty: Study: Female dolphins have functional clitoris that provides pleasure.

It took scientists this long to make this discovery, because they only found it by accident.  They weren't looking for it on porpoise.

I used to think that it was not a deliberate release, as the Chinese Communist Party would  not release something dangerous to its top leaders. Now it is clear readily-available drugs are quite effective against COVID, and I think they knew this all along. Also note how actively this information is being suppressed in order to frighten everyone.

I linked to an article a while ago that said "We're fighting a disease from China with a public health policy from China that is turning the world into China.

Were they trying to make Killer Zionist dolphins?

During an operation that occurred at an unstated time, Hamas naval operatives were chased into the sea by a dolphin equipped with a device capable of killing the terrorist group's frogmen, an Al-Qassam brigades naval commandos spokesperson revealed in a video.

"Killer Zionist dolphins exist, according to a  Hamas publication," tweeted Joe Truzman, research analyst at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ Long War Journal. "Abu Hamza explains that a member of Hamas' Frogman unit who was killed by Israel during the May conflict found the killer dolphin. The device the alleged killer dolphin was wearing is shown in the publication."

Confirmed. Article here

he SARS Cov-2 virus is the product of the research proposed by EcoHealth Alliance, conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and locations in the United States and funded by the NIH. It is a partially attenuated virus in the manipulation process that would eventually get aerosolized to become a vaccine for bats.

The EcoHealth proposal notes that ivermectin works against the virus the team planned on working with, SARSr-CoV. It inhibits viral replication and modulates the immune response. It also noted that hydroxychloroquine was a SARSr-CoV inhibitor and interferon was curative.

Jan 6 is looking more and more like a false flag operation

PJM

Fox

Cruz interrogated the FBI Executive Assistant Director of the National Security Branch, Jill Sandborn, about the role the FBI played. Her responses do not inspire confidence that the federal government wasn’t inciting violence that day.

“How many FBI agents or confidential informants actively participated in the events of January 6th?” asked Cruz.

“Sir, I’m sure you can appreciate that I can’t go into the specifics of sources and methods, uhhh,” replied Sanborn.

Cruz then asked Sandborn if the FBI participated and demanded she answer yes or no. “I can’t answer that,” she replied.

Cruz continued, “Did any FBI agents or confidential informants commit crimes of violence on January 6th?”

Sandborn again replied, “I can’t answer that.”

I’m out for a walk, and a little while ago I saw a fox strolling up the sidewalk in my neighborhood, boulders brass. Early twilight, still daylight out.
