I missed this:

Late Friday night, the Secretary of Defense released a memo that rescinded the plea deals with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) and his two co-conspirators who planned the 9/11 attacks. He also fired the prosecutor who negotiated them.

Cowards all.

The memo was addressed to Susan Escallier, the convening authority for military commissions. Escallier runs the military courts at Guantanamo Bay and signed off on the plea deals for the 9/11 terrorists that took the death sentence off the table.

Austin said the responsibility for such a decision “should rest with me," implying that he had no part in the agreement made by prosecutors.

Emphasis mine. So now we have people just making decisions willy nilly without consideration of how it might play out?

Well, apparently, yes. I meant to copy another portion of the article:

Austin said the responsibility for such a decision “should rest with me," implying that he had no part in the agreement made by prosecutors. Incredible.

Austin told Escallier that he was withdrawing her authority and “reserve such authority to (himself).” Making Escallier the fall guy for Austin and Biden's stupidity is typical of the two men most responsible for the Afghanistan withdrawal fiasco. They never take responsibility for any of their failings. Any of them. "I have determined that, in light of the significance of the decision to enter into pre-trial agreements with the accused in the above-referenced case, responsibility for such a decision should rest with me as the superior convening authority under the Military Commissions Act of 2009."

He didn't realize the "significance of the decision"? God help this country.

Apparently the Secret Service needs remedial training on....communication expectations and planning.

In a press briefing last week, the acting director said, "We need to be better communicators and articulate exactly what we need to mitigate any challenges, concerns, or anything that we identify during that advance process. ... [M]oving forward now, we're not going to have this assumption that, oh, we think that they have it. No, we're going to we're going to work together. We're going to have good, hard, fierce conversations about what we're going to do, and then we're going to go out there and we're going to make all of these venues secure moving forward."

And.... you're only now realizing you need to do these things????

Per this PJMedia storyReason.com reports that "Fifty-three percent of respondents agreed with the statement 'The First Amendment goes too far in the rights it guarantees' to at least some degree, with 28 percent reporting that it 'mostly' or 'completely describes their thoughts."

"Goes too far"? No. What goes too far is the way anyone and everyone feels it is their right to trample on free speech by threatening people with losing their jobs if they make a statement that the boss or boss's boss doesn't agree with.

O'Keefe released stories about smurfing back in the 2020 election cycle, but nothing was done, to my knowledge. Now, it's coming up again,  and this time VA AG Jason Miyares is complaining that Act Blue is doing illegal fundraising.

And will anything be done? I'm not popping popcorn.
