In #1 Occasional Reader said: High-level Democrats are openly saying that Harris should not talk about policy, because it might “trip her up“.

I'll have to go dig if I can find it, but someone did a close analysis of Harris' "unburdened from the past" speech, and says that it closely mirrors communists speeches of the past. She may sound stupid and vapid, and perhaps she is, but there are times when she definitely does not come across that way.

I would categorize, Obama, Newsome, Sanders as True Believers. Obama and Newsome are smart enough to couch their beliefs in more palatable rhetoric. Sanders can't do that.

I think she's a true believer, but given that her parents were marxist and she's had minimal training (having lived on the west coast), she hasn't figured out how to filter her beliefs so they don't shine through.

Okay let me refine the question.

Let's divided True Believers into two camps.

The ones who can articulate a logical basis for their belief. These folks can hold a discussion on the merits and principles.

Or the ones in believe more as an article of faith in the Marxist dogma. These folks believe but can't discuss the "why" of what the believe.

It's hard to distinguish and "faith" believer from a Useful Idiot.
