Thanks to Kosh for the Meatloaf song "Objects in the Rearview Mirror."  Never heard that one before, and both the song and the video were quite moving.

Good morning! It's a grey day of freezing drizzle in Toronto. A good day to go back to bed & pull the covers up over your head.

Good morning to you! Going back to bed sounds really great; I woke up at 4 and could not get back to sleep. Le sigh.

Old song by Harry Lauder:

Oh, it's nice to get up in the morning, when the sun begins to shine

At four or five or six o'clock in the good old summertime.

But when the snow is snowin' and it's murky overhead, oh...

It's nice to get up in the morning, but it's nicer to lie in bed.

Good morning.

Them: Hey, can you get on a plane to Lima this afternoon?

Me: Um, no.

Honestly, if I'd had at least 48 hours notice, I'd have been delighted.  But this?  No.

Nor had I.  So...with this, and "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" how many other parts of a car interior did he write songs about?  Is there a "Baby, You're My Dome Light" song I'd never heard, perhaps?  "My Love Is Like A Cupholder"?

Well, there is the line in a song by The Time that says "you can work the shift in my ride."

I don't recall the names of the songwriters, but it is my recollection that many if not all of the songs from the "Bat Out of Hell" album, including "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth," and "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad," as well as the title song, were all written by the same team of two writers.  "Objects in the Mirror" may well be by the same people.

There's a Chilean restaurant some distance from me.  Since it's kind of cold, damp and rainy here today, maybe I'll go there for some hot, spicy stew; sometimes, I feel like some Motherless Chile, a long way from home.

Even Chileans admit that Chilean cuisine is unremarkable...

" sometimes, I feel like some Motherless Chile, a long way from home."

Heh.  Perhaps we could open a Haitian-Chilean fusion cuisine restaurant, and call it Voodoo Chile, with Jimi Hendrix playing in the background.

I still want to see a Jamaican kosher restaurant, called "Dreadlox."

Jim Steinman wrote nearly all of Meatloaf's songs. He's also responsible for "Total Eclipse of the Heart," which I'm embarrassed to say I kind of love.

I trust you've seen the hilarious parody version of the video (e.g. "Mullet with highlights...").

Meatloaf's whole 'Bat Out Of Hell" CD is one of my favorites, and I also like the Bonnie Raitt version of 'Total Eclipse..." a lot.

I looked at yesterday's threads and guessed that Kosh's 'life defining' song would be Objects... My own would most likely be "Wasted Youth" https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=L035HzJJm3E

That reminds me- I've got some bagels, cream cheese, and some lox of indeterminate age in the fridge- Dreadlox might be an appropriate name for lunch! (If it's too funky, maybe I'll substitute some smoked kippers...

That's "black poll, white poll"---"poll" as in "head," e.g., "poll" ("head") tax.  It's a play on "...poll, but never a pal," with a nod to "pall," as in "pallor."

Trump is talking about accepting Nancy’s idea that he testify in regards to the impeachment scam.

As much as I have come to like Trump, I still think he is a bit of innocent when it comes to dealing the wolves.

Tin foil hat time.

5 more deaths linked to mold infections at Seattle Children's Hospital

The hospital has had two rounds of mold contamination of the OR suites.

Munchette's grandfather works for the construction company that built this section, he is in the logistics and scheduling of supplies. So we talked about this.

The air handling for the OR suite is state of art. High end HEPA which filters down to 0.3 microns, and UV light. Those systems should filter the spores, and if any get through the UV light would kill them.

This indicates to me that the mold is being introduced down stream of the filtration systems.

Which then means either there is a flaw in the air handling system, leak or introduction of non-filtered air.

Or .. placing tin foil hat on my head... somebody is introducing the mold into the system downstream of the filters.

I don't know if it's "life defining" but it's pretty much the story of my life.

This one might even be more accurate (albeit not in the specific details).
