Good morning. To drink the coffee in the picture, you would need a straw. Any movement of that cup and it's going to overflow and make a mess.

So are we ready for the Erf Day idiots waxing eloquent about how the pandemic is so wonderful because it's reduced pollution?

Well, WUWT is reporting that Michael Moore released a new film for erf day trashing the "renewables" industry as awful for the environment.

There is a part of me that wants to reply to one of those Gaia worshippers, "Yes, you love nature, until nature tries to kill you--then you want to eradicate it for yourself but no one else." Well, I am assuming that Gaia worshippers are also the ones who prefer everything "all natural"--including their cyanide (in apple seeds).

Yes, Insty reported that as well.  Of course, the documentary apparently still blathers on about how we're running out of everything, etc etc etc.

Is it?  I'd always heard "peach pits".  Or maybe both?

Did Chris Cuomo see his shadow when he emerged from his basement?  If so, does that mean six more weeks of quarantine?

This article explains that apple seeds and peach pits definitely have amygdalin, which degrades into hydrogen cyanide.

have amygdalin,

D'oh! It posted before I got a chance to clean it up. Grrr.

In other news, my boss has taken HR's strict limiting of staff on site to what seems to be an unhealthy extreme and saying that it's safer for someone to return a laptop directly to me--and create a face-to-face event--rather than have that laptop returned to an office where I can retrieve it later and disinfect it. Ahem.

I see where OZY---the NPR online magazine---is trying to whitewash the fact that "Earth Day" is also Lenin's birthday.  What's really interesting is the complete lack of mention of Ira Einhorn, the big First Earth Day Organizer, who murdered his girlfriend and stuffed her in a trunk.

No, thankfully. 95% of the time things are fine. This is just one of the 5% of the time where I shake my head.

Happy Dirt Day!

I think I will celebrate by drying around and burn up some gasoline in order to produce some CO2 for the local plant life.

Also, I am going a bit stir crazy from being under house arrest.

Governor Inslee seems bound and determined to extend this shutdown as long as possible.

spell check is so much fun.

It is raining today. How fast will I have to drive to induce a drying effect?

i don’t think my little truck has enough get up and go to get that done.

I think you meant to write "drying a round".  In fact, you should keep ALL your rounds - and your powder - dry.

ok. I emptied the amo boxes into the drier. Do you think they will dry out faster if I put the machine on high heat?

Yes, and don't forget the dryer sheet, to avoid wrinkles.

how about that. Drying ammunition in the dryer makes a lot more noise than drying tennis shoes.

Also:

Masks are completely useless against this virus, so don't bother buying any.  Also, you shouldn't buy masks, because healthcare workers need them to protect against the virus.  Also, you are required to wear masks.

I went out in a mask for the first time today. I hate it. It's heavy black cotton with a pocket for the disposable filter. It's hot and makes my glasses steam up.

I would love to have a mask with a fake cigarette sticking out of it on one side.

Wash your glasses with warm soapy water first. The soap film prevents the condensation buildup.
