Howdy, folks. I usually don't swing by the pub, but I just spent a bunch of money online for Christmas and I feel very accomplished. I found some good gifts and I'm almost done shopping. Time to relax now.

Reply to doppelganglander in 2: Howdy doppel, and thanks for the birthday wishes. Jayne’s independent and healthy, but is getting a little forgetful at times. The boys and I are celebrating with her this evening, at her house. Earlier she decided to start a fire for us to enjoy when we arrived but forgot to open the fireplace damper! The house filled with smoke before she realized what was going on ... thank god she opened it back up before the smoke got too out of control! Her smoke detector also alerted her next door neighbor who immediately came over and helped her open windows to vent the smoke. We luckily dodged what might have been a 90th birthday disaster for her. No way are we going to try and put ninety lit cake candles in front of her, no telling what might happen :.)
