That office looks quite a bit like the worst place I ever worked.

And I am under a nondisclosure to say where it was.

For example, the written policy was stay at home if you were sick.

The unwritten was drag your ass in, and be sure to help someone else by grabbing their mouse so they get sick too.

Snow days? The executives lived in expensive places nearby in ***** (part of Boston) and if they could walk to work, they expected you to, as well.

I spent several days fixing a customer problem. but when the favored person came back from vacation, they had him re-do it.

I did not meet schedule because they thought that a lot of code had been updated to where my changes would be easy. It was a major project to make those changes. I had a week.

Two weeks later, TWO people familiar with the code weren't done, but I was the one screwed.

A technology company, but not in a tech industry, so I stuck to tech places after that.

They got rid of me but I had another one soon, not like some other times.

The one after that was software to lock down computers to take exams. Very small company, but worked out. They were willing to let me put in time at home in return for making it to the commuter rail inconvenient schedule. But the project I was working on there was delayed and I was gone for somewhere else, that worked out.

However, there was a 20 year period where I was unemployed over 5 years.

Both songs "Suzanne"

First one by Leonard Cohen.

Second by Passenger. While Mike Rosenberg (Passenger) doesn't quite come to the level of Leonard Cohen, he's closer than I'd expect in his generation, and I think the particular song is more powerful.

I didn't even make it here last night.  The facility my husband is in insisted that he go to the hospital and get checked out since his left leg had kind of been twisted on Friday at the CT scanning place.  I stayed there until almost ten but he didn't get out of there until about one AM.  He had missed dinner so had a hot dog and some chicken wings at about 3:00 AM with the night crew.  I took Lyft to the hospital and back.

The other night I thought I saw a piece that featured Santana and Leonard Cohen but I must have been mistaken.  I do think they might have appeared on the same stage but not on the same song.

Want to set up a version for dogs called "BehindSniffBook" but that won't work until we have smellphones.

Thanks so much but at least I wasn't stuck there as long as he was.  I was a bit worried about getting exposed to Covid 19 after a doctor who escorted me to his ER room said that even though I have had two shots over a month ago that I had a 30% chance of catching it there.  We were in one of two Trauma rooms and the fellow in the other bed had a kidney stone.

Thanks. Too many years unemployed - and software companies wonder why they still have software with the same bugs as years ago.

MAYBE IF YOU HIRED EXPERIENCED ENGINEERS WHO KNOW HOW NOT TO MAKE THE MISTAKES

The on the record is when some tech guy was saying how they needed people from India, and the reporter said his wife was a tech person, and could do the job - but was told she was too expensive.

I say H1B visas should require companies to inform all citizens who were rejected, and the reasons. They would HAVE to show how the foreigner was qualified but the American was not, or pay the American anyway.

Too many cases where they could say they could not find an American who fit their requirements- but the H1B person did not fit them either.

For example, years ago requiring more .NET experience than .NET was released.

That's too bad.  It seems like I remember he got very good grades when he was going to that school.  It's too bad that we lost touch with him as well.  For all we know he could be married now.
