Happy belated mothers day to all of the mothers here.  I hope you had a nice day yesterday.  Our daughter picked me up on Saturday morning and I spent the rest of the weekend with them.  I had a great time.  I had a great time with them and their little miniature chihuahua Lily.

A "miniature chihuahua?"  That must be about the size of a hamster...

She's very tiny, around 3.5 pounds and looks a lot like this apple head chihuahua on the left.

Lily

I said during the daytime thread I'd post this

Note in Massachusetts, liquor stores are officially Package Stores (sell booze in packages instead of by the drink) and colloquially are known as Packies.

And South Boston is known for the racist riots over busing blacks to their schools

We had a "tiny poodle", under 5 lbs. He lasted 16 years. No brains but lots of love.

I'll bet he was adorable.

His name was Pixel, and he would pose for the camera

I imagine more than one British visitor to Boston over the years has been mystified when directed to the nearest “Packie” (expecting a somewhat different kind of store).

I didn't like him at first because he was high maintenance but he charmed me later.

IIRC, a lot of money to keep him going with a heart condition for 10 months.

Then a funny cough, a trip to the emergency vet, in COVID times, so when I was let in to prepare for putting him down, I had a minute before they called me because he was dying.

Vet cardiologist called later to say he had a blood clot in the lungs.

We had a toy poodle make it to 18, but he was more demented than Biden, and would panic when he couldn't get up. He'd go between pieces of furniture and could not figure out how to get out.

I think I have to stop this discussion for a while

Focus on remembering the good times, the times they made you laugh and feel loved.  Console your heart with the thoughts of what a wonderful life you provided for them and how much they loved you in return.  Nobody loves you as much as your dog.  What's the joke?  Put your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car for few hours and see which one is glad to see you when you open it up.

Thanks. He loved chasing socks. He thought they were prey and would catch and shake them.

And one tine he caugt a June bug. I realized he was going to go after it, but he was faster than I was.

That video kills me every time. My daughter watches several of the Real Housewives and I was just telling her about this yesterday.
