I have accepted all courses offered. Low enrollment and they are making the math classes larger using more automated tools.

Basically (and the administration did not deny this in an online faculty meeting), Obama screwed for-profit colleges.

One of the things I try to drum into my students' heads is that "not-for-profit" does not mean that an entity is virtuous, nor that it does not make a profit, nor that it does not have money; quite the contrary.  "Not-for-profit" merely means that the entity has managed to obtain a tax designation which gives it certain advantages, in return for which the entity cannot spend its profits on certain things. 

"Non-profits" often try to cozen illustrators---especially younger ones---into giving them work at undermarket rates, or to donate work for fundraising auctions, because they're saving the whales, or something.  I try and get the students to realize that they are not able to take a tax break for such donations (and at that stage of their careers probably don't need one), and that the "non-profit" pays market rates for office space, phones, printing, etc., etc.---so if they want to save the whales have the "non-profit" pay them at a proper rate, and donate money (for which they can take a deduction) if they feel the urge to do so.

The difference is, where I teach, the students are adults who see through all the socialist crap.

I had class tonight and it was my turn to lead the discussion, so I was up late last night preparing. I got the notification that I'm approved to graduate in May and an email about doing my portfolio and comps in April. And did I mention my boyfriend is having periodontal surgery in two weeks, followed by two back surgeries in March, and I'll be helping take care of him? I'll schedule my collapse sometime around Memorial Day.
