So Hillary now says she;d be open to being the VP candidate.

Who'd be dumb enough to take her up on it? Maybe Vince Foster can answer that.

I'm here. Busy nursing my cat back to health. Poor thing is so miserable.

In reference to stuff I typed earlier today, here's Ma Rainey doing "Prove It On Me Blues" and George Hannah doing "Freakish Man Blues."

Something that struck me from this weekend. I had dinner with a friend of mine who I have not seen in a long time. Actually, I was wildly in love with her back in the late 90s to early 2000‘s, but it never really came to anything, that’s all water under the bridge. Anyway, she’s married and has two sons, one is 15 years old and the other 13. The 15-year-old is doing great. The 13-year-old, on the other hand, is already having problems with drugs. She didn’t get into too much detail, but apparently it’s marijuana, and also vaping using high concentration THC. I just cannot Imagine that sort of stress and heartbreak. Only a couple years ago, the kid was probably playing with Power Rangers, for gods sake.

A terrible thing to be into pot at that young an age (or an older age, for that matter).  One wonders what can be done to turn him around.

They are apparently looking at rehabilitation programs and possibly military school for next year. Needless to say, this all grabs my attention as the father of a young boy, so fortunately I don’t think I have to worry about that stuff for a few more years at least.

On a lighter note, to continue our musings about the movie “big trouble in Little China“, I submit the following: Donald Trump is Jack Burton.

That is; he’s pompous, a braggart, he can truly seem ridiculous a lot of the time, but he also is genuinely brave, and surprisingly effective in getting the job done.

”Discuss.”...

Clearly, I will have to see this movie in the more or less near term.

Just to manage expectations here, this is not exactly “the seven samurai“... it’s a silly, cheesy, but surprisingly good movie.

It would be pleasing to hear him saying, in reference to Schiff, "Sonofabitch must pay."

Sort of thing that makes me glad my kids are such prudes.

I can easily imagine him saying that after the Iranian backed attempted overrun of the US Embassy in Baghdad. And, of course, he made the son of a bitch pay.
