I am getting mightily tired of the "conservatives" at various other sites.  In the immortal words of Eric Ambler in "A Coffin for Dimitrios," there is simply no need to be that stupid.

So, tomorrow, do I vote in the Democrat primary and vote for someone who is no longer running (not that he ever had a chance), or just vote in the Republican primary and vote for some Republican committeepeople I'd support?

And Trump, of course.

As far as the Democrat primary, I'd say let the dead bury the dead.

Why get involved in that nonsense, if there is someone on the other side that is worthy of support and could use your vote?  There is no percentage in being too clever by half.

Thanks. I'll vote for the real or closest to real Republicans. In Mass, the Rinos make most Rinos look like real Republicans.

Take Governor Baker. Please. We'll throw in Mitt Romney and Bill Weld.

It usually takes millions to get politicians of this "quality", but if you act RIGHT NOW, they can be yours for the bargain price of $100,000. Call 1-800-take-my-money. Operators are standing buy (deliberate)

And if you throw in another $100,000, you can get a job with the state that pays you $167,200 each year! You get back more than you payed! If you are qualified to be a judge, your black robes are waiting. If not, maybe a head of probation, or a manager at the RMV could be yours!

I've been told that a lot of politicians are Athols.

What an experience.

I was on a thread at PJM, and mentioned, in passing, that "gay" in its modern sense is a holdover from 19th-century Victorian slang.  I've mentioned the same thing to you folks once or twice.

The pushback I got was---remains---unbelievable.  There is a real knot of boobs there which insists on clinging to the stupid belief that "duh fags done hijacked duh woid "gay" in duh Sixties," or something; give 'em references going back to the '20s and '30s, and a little explication taking it back to the late 19th century, and they don' wanna hear it.

You'd think they'd be interested in the fact that the homosexual community has appropriated unto itself a euphemism for whores---or perhaps that that same community doesn't know that what they call "straight" was originally "strait," derived from a Bible reference.  But, no---they're too damned stupid, and too damned mired in their dumb lowbrow hatred, to be able to entertain a different idea.

We've gotten to the point that both sides are about to collapse into intellectual black holes due to the density of "thought"

I think it is time for Moshiach soon.

I'd rather get Moe Shiach, Larry Shiach, and Curly Shiach.  We could all laugh our way into the Messianic times, and with three of 'em it would be easy for Jews and Christians to unite.

So the question occurred to me, a little earlier this evening: if by some twist of fate tomorrow I found myself on the receiving end of, say, a $50 million inheritance from some obscure relative, given the current circumstances would I not take a leave of absence from work, pull my son from school, and either rent or buy a well-stocked home out in the Shenandoah or maybe West Virginia until this coronavirus thing blows over (say, 3 months)? And my answer to myself is, yes, I would.

And so my next question to myself is: it’s not that I absolutely cannot implement the aforementioned plan, it’s just that it would be very expensive to me in the absence of that $50 million windfall. But - and this might be the Pinot Noir talking - should I be implementing that plan anyway?

Athol Fugard.

Read his play "Sizwe Banze is Dead" (iirc the title)

Was good. South Africa sucked - and was nothing like Israel, even though the latter is called "an Apartheid state"

No one is excluded from anywhere. Excuse me, except that JEWS are not allowed to pray on the Temple Mount.

Meanwhile the "Palestinians" don't allow Jews to live in their terrortories, but no one calls them Apartheid.

I saw a Peruvian adaptation of his play “Playland“ in lima in 1996, which had been adopted for post conflict Peru instead of post conflict South Africa, supposedly with the playwrights blessing. It was really very good.

I wonder how many people who decry Israel are perfectly fine with wearing leather-sleeved baseball jackets.  After all, they are a part hide.
