You have to WAIT for some fucking beauracrap to DO YOUR FUCKING JOB! Fuck me... if I waited two weeks for my boss to tell me what to do I'd be out of a job so fast.

Leftists come in two varieties: those who can't wipe their ass without direct orders, and those who are eager to issue direct orders on ass-wiping.

Stay at home order in WA

WA Gov. ordering stay at home order.

2221 cases

100 deaths.

WA population 7.5 million.

in 8 weeks the virus infected a known 0.02% of the population.

IMAO I'm not seeing the necessity.

Media is annoying.

Media locally is practicing social distancing.

The interview someone remotely. Instead of piping the video conference feed into the system.

They are using cameras to film a phone with the conference on it.

A local supermarket chain, Market Basket, has "gourmet" chocolate for less than Hershey's. Not as good as real gourmet, but better than Hershey's

Wisconsin update is 416 confirmed cases (all but 50 are in the Madison to Milwaukee area) and 5 deaths.  Governor Evers (D) has shut the state down, only essential businesses can remain open; food, medicine, gas, etc.  Oh yeah, manufacturing facilities can still be open, go figure.  I'm glad he shut the whole state down though; otherwise all those southerners would be headed "up north", where the bars, restaurants, and casinos would still be open!

there are better chocolates than Hershey’s. A local market the caters to the Asian market has a bunch of east block chocolate available. It is really good, but it is not cheap.

I was at a local restaurant supply store the other day and they had display sale boxes of chocolate for sale.  After a brief, and somewhat animated consultation with my debit card, I settled on the Hershey’s special dark.

When hoarding, especially when the shelves are being aggressively shopped, you get what you can get and what you can afford.

There was no flour for sale and some items were being sold with customer limits.

we are seeing first hand how Americans would prepare for a SMOD level event.

Just finished watching Singing in the Rain with sons no. 2 and 3.  There was something about them singing along with the movie that makes me feel like I've been a good dad.

I believe the old moloko plus is in short supply, especially synthemesc, which sharpens you up and gets you ready for a night of the old ultra-violence

Kubrick's use of classical music in Clockwork Orange and 2001 is interesting, as well as his collaboration with Walter/Wendy Carlos.  Wendy said after The Shining she wouldn't work with him again.

And Stephen King said he would insist on writing all screenplays for his works, because Kubrick toned town the supernatural aspects in the movie.

Personally, I've tried, but have not been able to get into any horror writer other than Poe or Lovecraft

Seeing the above discussion about Singing in the Rain, the Shining and Clockwork Orange,....

I have decided to plug in the Willie Wonka BluRay and watch a fun, albeit slightly psychotic, musical.

And it is about Chocolate. And other stuff. Mostly about other stuff but there is a fair bit about chocolate.

Wisconsin is 4th in maple syrup production in the states.  We put that in cheese too.  Our cranberries go into cheese too.  I'm starting to think maybe we have a problem here...

i am not so sure about that.

When computers are so cheap that it is less costly to replace than repair, the repairman goes hungry.

As for there is always a future in software engineering, if you are under 40.

And then, how come the latest software has the same bugs as the old software?

Duh, maybe because you won't hire the people who know how not to produce those bugs

I'm fortunate.  The IT guy where I used to work repaired my computer several times.  Saved me from having to replace it.  This one is fifteen years old now.  I guess I got my money's worth on it.  Hope I don't have to call on him soon again.
