Here is a fun thing to do.

when your friends and family ask you what you stocked up on for the state wide Wuhan Flu shutdown in your state, smile “evilly” at them and say “ammo”.

We just got an emergency broadcast text from DC government, "STAY HOME", all nonessential businesses to close at 8 pm tonight until April 24.

Doesn't seem like it'll change what I'm doing anyway, basically staying home except to take socially-distant walks.

Yep.  OTOH, I'm a little relieved in  way, we knew this was coming.  Sooner we start, sooner we can finish.

We are good.  We saw this coming.

There was a lot of lead up to this so it is hard to imagine that anyone has really been caught by surprise.

The lid is down.

the timer is set.

Chicken in a green curry sauce will be ready to serve in about 50 minutes.

the cooking timer has an amazing way of slowing down the passage of time.

maybe some physicists should look into that.

Funny you should say that. I'm thinking about taking in a foster dog. I'm not able to make the commitment to dog ownership, but right now seems like a good time to help out. There are probably people having to leave their homes for financial reasons who can't keep their pets but want them back eventually.

When I went to the beer and wine shop today they had little boxes taped out on the floor marking safe distance.  And I'm like "alcohol sanitizes!"

I'd really like to skip forward about 6 months, to when (hopefully) supermarkets will be just supermarkets again, and I can go to a restaurant, and I don't carry this nagging feeling of "do I have enough ammo".

So having now read the DC order, it's less severe than I thought.  It prohibits "large gatherings', but other than that, no prohibition on going out for a stroll.  It's mostly aimed at closing "non-essential businesses".  And the definition of essential businesses includes, inter alia: Liquor stores, legal services, and "medical marijuana cultivation facilities".

Send lawyers, pot and booze.... the shit has hit the fan.
