I noticed that OZY, the online-magazine tentacle of NPR, was going on about how the US death toll is "approaching that of Italy."  

Well, Italy has 1/6th of the US population, for starters---but of course they don't put the raw numbers in context with that little bit of info.  And, of course, they don't go anywhere near the many reports that all sorts of current fatalities are being ascribed to coronavirus, whether the actual cause of death was the virus, or whether someone smeared by a bus happened to test positive post-mortem---and, apparently, there are instances where the death being from corona can be/merely is "inferred," on the basis of probability, without any tests whatever.

I am very far from joining the lunatics who are raving against Fauci, against the very idea of a vaccine (it appears that the anti-vax loons are making a major comeback in the general panic), against Bill Gates because he has, apparently, financed a lot of health research, etc.  And I'm seeing a nasty undercurrent of the old "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" mindset among many of the people espousing this sort of lunacy on places like PJM and WZ.  But, that said, it seems to me that the death rates are being inflated and fudged to justify increasingly-draconian restrictions on practically everything.

A Boston-area company with ties to MIT tested the wastewater in a large municipal area, and came up the estimate that in that area, at least 2000 people had COVID-19, but only 445 were recognized cases.

That means that there are about 4x the number of cases than diagnosed, and thus the death RATE is about 1/4 the rate given.

Had the New Yorker Comedy Hour, which NPR broadcasts on Saturday, on this morning.  David Remnick, the New Yorker editor, is a smug, preening asshole.  He was getting into the thing which AOC kicked off a few days ago, about how there is a "disproportionate" number of Persons of Color suffering from coronavirus fatality.  

The cliches were flying thick and fast; the PoCs, of course, "have less access to healthcare"---what, are they being turned away from the hospitals? They tried to suggest this---which makes one wonder, what about Medicaid for the people at the poor end?  What about Obamacare, which is still around and supposedly was intended to cover, and supposedly did cover, these people?  How many of the people they're talking about are illegals?  Et. cetera.

I have seen various statements that the virus affects men more readily than women.  This dovetails nicely into my pet conspiracy theory that the Chinese hope to decimate the populations they wish to subjugate with a combination of virus and their financial tentacles into the various economies, so that they can export their vast surplus of young and young-ish men who are the result of their one-child policy, so they can take wives from the subjugated populations.

I don't think COVID-19 is a bioweapon, but i believe it includes genes being developed for one. A real bioweapon would be deadlier.

If they were using a "harmless" coronavirus in research, and it infected one or more people due to sloppy practices, and one of them went to a wet market; those genes would easily combine with another coronavirus.

But I do think there is more in this than they are letting us know. No actual information on my part, just inferences from the behavior I see.

The virus does seem to have the result of an abnormal desire for toilet paper, it seems.
