Serious Q: Is Walz not running for re-election because he knows he can't win now that the Somali fraud has been revealed, or is this a move by him to avoid prosecution for any directions he gave the state government of Minnesota?

Reply to vxbush in 1: One take has the following: "The [New York] Times offhandedly admitted that “Democrats in the state had voiced concern in recent weeks that Mr. Walz’s presence on the ticket might hurt other Democrats in November.” Translation: top donors and party leadership decided Walz had become a down-ballot liability. So they voted him off the flying monkey team." This would imply that Walz only stepped down because he was told to.

I missed this yesterday: "Yesterday, the New York Times reported, “Corporation for Public Broadcasting Votes to Shut Down.” Last July, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act cut all $500 million in ‘aid’ to the CPB. The CPB previously funnelled federal funds to NPR and PBS stations. Now it is even more gone than ex-President Maduro, having died a lonely corporate death. It’s another scalp for President Trump, and $500 million less progressive propaganda for the midterm season." [Hat tip: Same source as the earlier link. Coffee & Covid has a lot of good news today.]

Reply to vxbush in 1: Or as I've seen speculated he's going to cut a deal to avoid prosecution and turn state's witness.

Reply to vxbush in 3: They could easily fund CPB out of the Sesame Street profits.
