Don Lemon was NOT charged under the Klan Act or any other act, as he was acting as doing First Amendment-protected reporting.

I wish I could believe that was actually true, but I'm a pessimist. And Bill Melugain says the magistrate judge on this is Douglas Micko, whose wife works in an Assistant AG in Keith Ellison's office.

THAT is probably why Lemon didn't get charged.

Hegseth is calling out the SBA Business Development Program as "the oldest DEI program in the federal government" and pointing out how it is resulting in the subcontracting fiascos:

In a widely shared social media video, Hegseth argued that while supporting small businesses is "laudable," the 8(a) program has "morphed into swamp code words for DEI race-based contracting." He claimed it has become a "breeding ground for fraud," where many certified firms act as intermediaries: winning sole-source contracts (sometimes worth $100 million or more) without competitive bidding, then subcontracting most or all of the work to larger firms (often called "Beltway Bandits") while collecting fees of 10-50% for minimal involvement.

Now the Department ofWar is goin to do a line-by-line review of every sole-source contract over $20 million. If the contract does not make the military more Letha, then he wants it gone.

The article highlights some issues with the plan, but this is an initiative across the federal government, not just the military.

Michael Mann got bitchslapped again, and it couldn't happen to a nicer fraudster.

Key line: "In short, Michael Mann won a defamation lawsuit over accusations of data fiddling, only to be found to have fiddled the data to achieve his victory."

That's the usual assumption, yes!

Oh, yes. I think there are still some financial agreements in place to push these shots.

I lived through the Blizzard of 78. 12-18 inches of snow? Snowblower gas almost full and spare gas can full.

I'm ready.

But I do have to shovel for the dogs by hand using a plastic shovel, because apparently pavers you get nowadays are made for California or someplace; metal shovels and regular rock salt will damage them. Have to also use petsafe ice melt, but since the pavers are where the dogs go, I'd have to do that anyway.

Bohn and bred New Englandah, I am.

Media has to blow everything into a catastrophe. At least they haven't blamed Trump for it.

basically, everything is groovy as long as the power and water stay on. If the water goes out, for a couple of days, that’s OK. It’s the power goes out, that will not be groovy.

We generally have power, but not always. The town and the electric company work to keep lines clear.

Most times, we have power back in a few hours. Only once since we've been here did it last a long time, and that was an October ice storm. Took 4-5 days to get to us.

If ANYONE in town has water, we do; the tank is on the hill behind our house and we connect before it gets to the water main.

Plus we are above the sewer line. Those below it need pumps to push the sewage uphill, and if power goes out, well, shit flows downhill.

It’a rare in DC proper to get prolonged power outages.

But I’ve just tempted the gods.

On a different topic; why did Apple think it was a good idea for thw latest iPad software update to shift the bloody keyboard around?  Was it just to fuck with us?

The idea of the Minneapolis morons doing a “general strike” against their own, uber-left city (which they dod today) is just hilarious.

In fact, if they really cared about social justice and progressive values, they would burn the entire city to the ground. It’s the only way to show their stunning and brave resistance against Orange man bad.
