So I had bagels and lox this morning.  No capers though.

Finally a decent day. Feeling physically better, and the sun is shinning. Of course the Squire doesn't feel like moving off the couch just yet.

In light of the current protests, Classic Rock station W-O-K-E will no longer play songs by The Police

And discovered why the Squire didn't want to move fast. Just finished cleaning two messy spots on the carpet. Threw up and said he felt better.... Had to pull out the steam cleaner. Thank god we have two... small and large.

Aww, i’m glad he’s feeling better. Of course, check his temperature, etc.

in my little slice of heaven, my son had his first play date with another child in three months. His best friend from school. He was super happy about it.

Which reminds me -- I need to see if my youngest's friend is receiving visitors.  It's sort of ridiculous -- he only lives a block away and in the old days I'd just say walk over and see if he's home.  But nowadays people freak out if you do that.  His parents are total SJWs so I wonder if they insist on everyone wearing masks indoors.  I don't get it -- people complained once that my kids were running around the neighborhood.  Um, isn't that what kids are supposed to do?

No, kids must only go to parentally controlled and government approved activities, so that they will be well behaved and follow all government orders as good comrade adults.

FIFY, comrade.  Be sure not to make that mistake again.  Children belong to the collective, not to "parents".

I remember the good old days when you left the house early in the morning and the only rules were be home before the street lights came on and don't do anything stupid.  Most nights I made it home before dark.  Can't say I never did anything stupid though.  Maybe that's the problem.  I realize it's a different world out there today, but kids now days don't know what they're missing.

We had a hill behind the house and a forest on it. I wasn't supposed to go out of view of the house, but I did.

Always made it back. Never met a bear or anything nasty. (Since this was Mattapan, part of Boston, I wasn't likely to run into bad wildlife; people would be a different matter)

Did get poison ivy.

Would walk I think 2 miles to the movie theater, too. Interesting place, with clouds projected on the ceiling during the movie (some movies were boring enough for me to notice that).
