Since we're going all-in on black this and black that, everyone surely knows the famous line by the poet Langston Hughes: "What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?" This line was used by the playwright Lorraine Hansberry as the title of her iconic play about a poor black Chicago family trying to move into a house in a white neighborhood, A Raisin in the Sun. What is not generally known is that this line is a play on words from a black spiritual, Racing with the Sun.

Repost from the pub, parody of the Grateful Dead Hell in a Bucket that fits today better I was watching Black Lives Matter As they toppled a statue or two I said "Boy, I gotta get outta here" Seems the best thing to do 'Cause when they're rioting and burning Up and down our cities and towns You will think it all quite proper Until they come for us all You imagine you're fighting a racist system In all your wokeness and pride But we're going to hell in a bucket, babe And no one's enjoying the ride; no one's enjoying the ride Jukebox

Reply to Syrah in 6: I certainly hope so. I think we can all fill in the blanks in that story. Just last week Georgia passed a hate crimes law. Do you think it will be applied in this case?

I'm having a bad couple of days. Everything seems to go wrong. Nothing that I do seems to work. Little things, big things. I really wish something genuinely good would happen for once. The last twelve years have been a steady shower of shit.

So the non-binary they "protester" who got the Rachel Corrie treatment has died. That explains the herd of pigs that ran off a cliff into the sea.
