Laura keeps chugging along.

Six confirmed fatalities, though I noticed that one of them was a person who died of carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator they had in the house -- not sure how that counts as a "hurricane" death.

All but a handful of people evacuated (150 stayed behind) and although property damage was severe, the storm surge was not nearly as bad as predicted.

I think it counts as a hurricane death in that it shows Trump Bungled The Hurricane Response:  And also, as a Covid-19 death, in terms of  Ongoing Total Crisis That Requires A Sustained Sense Of Panic And The Use Of Mail-In Ballots.  Does that answer your question?

    There are two separate manufacturing issues involved that together undermine the strength of an area in the rear of the planes'     fuselage, according to Boeing.

They are self inflicted for the most part.

It’s a very strange phenomenon to observe. Bring the matter up, in anyway, and they get very uneasy and quickly try to change the subject. They simply start to squirm. 'Operation Not Forgotten': US Marshals rescue 39 endangered children in Georgia, arrest 9 suspects on sex trafficking charges

After a two-week search for endangered children in Georgia, the U.S. Marshals Service on Thursday announced the recovery of 39 children: "Operation Not Forgotten" rescued 26 missing children and safely located 13 others.

Nine people were arrested and charged with sex trafficking, parental kidnapping, registered sex offender violations, drugs and weapons possession and custodial interference, officials said.

Might get to make some blog improvements this weekend  and next.

This weekend:

New users are guests until an admin makes them full members.

This will allow us to try out new users without letting them at the Frontier. We can delete posts discussing the new members before  they can see them, if we want.

And warn about refreshing if the composition  box is not empty.

Next  weekend:

Time  zones - allow users to  set theirs, and  times will be displayed in that user's zone.

Any comments or high wish items? I'll reply what I think. (Anything  that changes the database will not be done this weekend. Too likely to  break things. I'll reply if it does. Note I put time zones in the database a  while ago so I could add  the use of them later..

What amazed me is that he was a newlywed and his wife had absolutely no idea he had this stuff (or at least it seems as if she had no idea). There's no telling if he committed suicide for personal or professional reasons at this point, but I'm sure there's an investigation into his work to figure out if he was being blackmailed or something.
