Very European-looking breakfast.  I had the Muesli and coffee but no boiled eg.

I find a boiled eggs absolutely vile, but to each his own.

So, I very deliberately did not watch the debate last night. I just don’t think it’s good for me to watch these things. In the opinion of you all, what’s the verdict?

I have developed a taste for them over the years.  My daughter loves them. I got a little egg set for the two of us.

Depends on which bias you read. Either Pence did well, or Harris destroyed him. Oh a housefly made an impromptu appearance....

I was bouncing between Das Rheingold and the debate. Kamala has the same effect on me as Hillary - the grating voice, the fake facial expressions,  the condescending tone. Pence stuck to the facts, was calm and polite, and ignored the moderator telling him he was out of time. Kamala dodged every question,  especially about packing the Supreme Court (a question asked by Pence, not the moderator). Pence for the win, not even close.

That aspect was literally headlined at BBC news, which caused me to think the pence probably did well in the debate. Out: “Look, a squirrel!”. In: “ look, a fly!“

You know, it’s OK to actually drink your beer and watch the debate *at the same time*. But good Lord, girl, next time, pick better beer!

I fell in with a group of oddballs on Twitter who were having a watch party and snarking on the pudgy Rhinemaidens. Wagner is streaming every night this week at metopera.com. It was good not to focus too much on the debate but I couldn't stay away completely.

Morning Sedition had a snippet this morning about "conspiracy theories, such as QAnon, gaining ground in Britain."

I had thought "QAnon" was some sort of internet site such as 4Chan or 8Chan or CharlieChan, not a "conspiracy theory"; I guess I'm behind the curve.  And I'd certainly not realized that it was something tying together "Pizzagate," which I'd thought a long-dead blip on the horizon, "adrenochrome," and pedophilia generally.  I've recently seen references to these things in comments on the increasingly troll-infested PJM site, but was unaware that they were part of some unified worldview.

Interesting that Morning Sedition featured this; I get a feed on internet/tech issues from something called CNet, and they had a "QAnon" article the other day.  It appears that QAnon is currently a major Leftist talking point.  I find myself wondering whether this "conspiracy theory" is actually a thing, or is rather a Leftist false-flag meant to create a strawman to counteract the anti-mask, anti-vaccine---generally, anti-coronavirus-panic---sentiments which are gaining ground all over the place.

The Great Barrington Declaration

As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.

Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice.

"Mansplaining", per the totally neutral objective super-professional journalist George Stephanopolous.

Watched some of the debate. Kamala Harris came across as a [deleted]

I was disappointed in Pence, as I had better answers in two places:

1: Harris was saying how much free stuff Biden would give, paid for by higher taxes on companies. Did say something about companies offshoring profits. Also, promised no one making less than 400,000 would pay more in taxes.

Biden missed the chance to point out that raising taxes is what makes companies offshore profits, in which case, where will the money come from?

2: The Dem talking point about Trump insulting friends and sucking up to dictators.  Missed the chance to refer to Obama's "I can be more flexible after the election"; only mentioned the Iran deal at the end when he was out of time,

Well, according to Joe Biden himself, he's currently running for US Senate, so it's hard to keep track.

So, the consensus regarding last night is that if you take care of the Pence, the pounding will take care of itself?

She's done something similar at least two other times--talked and acted as if she alone can force the president out of office. There's a reason why I don't see as many video snippets of her talks to the media now as compared to six months ago.

Pelosi questions Trump's health, says ‘we’re going to be talking about the 25th Amendment’

"Tomorrow, by the way, tomorrow, come here tomorrow," Pelosi said. "We're going to be talking about the 25th Amendment."

Ummm Nancy are you literate?

Section 4

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

I was talking to the BF the other night about the raw hatred the Democrats and Nevertrumpers have for him. It's absolutely insane and wildly disproportionate for a mere political disagreement. His theory is that they're terrified that he will expose how they've enriched themselves at taxpayer expense, not to mention  election interference and trying to overthrow the Presidency. That doesn't explain the psychotic rank and file, though. I guess leftism is truly a mental disorder.

DeBatshit warns Orthodox Jewish protesters "no tolerance for violence"

But looting, rioting was just fine by BLM protesters.

Feds, DeBlasio deserves federal charges due to his handling of Jewish protesters differently than secular ones.

And they need a 1st amendment suit against NYC. Maybe to relocate the entire Jewish NY community to another state.
