Finally completed the plumbing project.

Last week, our shower head started spraying water out the side where the adjustment knob is. The spray was heavy enough to get out of the shower curtain (since it is right at the end of the curtain), and wet the floor and soak the bathmat.

I turned it so the spray hit the wall instead, until I could replace it.

Like so many things in this house, the standard way of attaching shower heads changed since it was installed. New ones have a female fitting; this one had a male that screwed into the fitting from the wall, that looks like a bathtub spout.

So back to Home Depot to get a nipple. 

Took a couple of tries to get it in place; I had to clean the threads of the "spout" so it would seat well without leaking.

But it is done!

The Mildred Bailey song reminds me of both the Havana sequence in "Guys and Dolls" and the Alice Faye movie "Weekend in Havana."
