Hallooooo

A little chilly this morning (60 when I got up) but looks to be a glorious day at the beach.

Enjoy it!  I can't wait to get to the beach (and I'm not even a big beach guy).

CDC advises ending "hygiene theater", says risk of Covid infection via surface contact is low

I'm not sure what to think of this.

Ol' Doc Fauci, that ol' Doc Fauci
He don't know nothin', but still says somethin'
He just keeps trollin', keeps on trollin' along
Trollin' along
He goes different ways about the maskin'
"No need---no, use two---thanks for askin'"
And still he keeps on, keeps on trollin' along
You and me endure lockdowns
As we try to get our business done in town
Trying to perform the most simple task
Is twice as difficult with distancing and with masks
I get weary and sick of trying
I'm tired of Doctor Fauci always lying
But ol' Doc Fauci just keeps trolling along!

Designed to Fail

Clean-up effort to begin at sprawling homeless camp in Olympia

What is unusual is that the city is ready to cover the costs even though the encampment is on privately-owned land. And despite the all out effort to clear away the trash, the tents will be allowed to stay.

Never heard of this, but there is a "WELL-ness" seal for buildings hyped by celebrities

The company behind it has ties to China.

The seal may mean almost nothing, or it could mean something, up to the Chinese are spying on what goes on in the building

Another Totem.

It goes back to Legionnaires syndrome. The original idea was about airflow, filter, lighting etc... now they've added a cleaning regime for the building.

However the effort is moot...

Ditch the Clorox: CDC tells businesses to 'end hygiene theater' because risk of being infected with COVID through surfaces is 'low'

The filters in HVAC systems are for airborne particles. Probably important for rooms where there are several people.

I doubt we'll be going back to the crowded conference rooms of a year and a half ago, at least where I work.

I know our facilities folks made a point of telling everyone at the beginning of the panic that they were increasing fresh airflow into offices, hallways, and conference rooms to minimize the incidence of the virus in offices, but many people seemed to have ignored that announcement.

Perhaps the reduced incident of flu cases can continue next year if facilities managers across the country continue to maintain the changes into this next flu season.

So in some good news, my knee flexion at physical therapy is now up to 129° for a “passive“ bend. The goal is 130° “active“, meaning, without assistance and without using my own weight to bend the knee. Enormous progress compared to about a month ago.

I'm just having a tiny drink while waiting for Lyft.  My husband has been sent to the hospital to have his left leg examined.  When he went for a CT Scan on Friday they had trouble moving him from the wheelchair to the CT table and twisted his bad leg.  His therapists will not give him therapy until that leg is checked out. I'll see you all tomorrow.
