Hard to enjoy your waffle with stuff piled on top when you have a death grip on the table because of vertigo.

Maybe, but I would love to look out at that and try to list everything I could see. I don't get into high rises that often.

Morning, campers.

Huh.  Today's brekkie-fast image does not appear for me.

Anyway.  In other news, a deal has been reached in Haiti, resulting in the acting prime minister stepping aside to be replaced by his political rival.

Question:  Who wants to be PM of Haiti?

How do you build up a place like Haiti? Or any of those other 3rd world shitholes?

IMAO it takes a regime of a benign strongman. One who can control the chaotic elements of the society at the same time build up the elements of a liberal democratic western institutions. Then in about 3 generations, turn the regime over in stages to a representative republic.

The problem always is human nature. Benign strongmen don't exist in reality.

I do not believe for one second Haitians are incapable of self governance. The problem is they have idea how it works, they only know the cycle they are in, and breaking just might be one the hardest things a people can do.

I never did get any Ben and Jerry's, and now they can keep it.

Note they did not "cave" to the BDS movement; their board wanted to boycott all of Israel, but their parent company will not allow it. (article)

(Unilever's purchase agreement with B&J allows the B&J board to decide social issues)

And there is a movement to remove their kosher certification (should be done, effective the date of the vote, except for the product produced by their contract company in Israel, which refused to boycott any part of Israel). Plus, several NY supermarket chains have removed their products from their stores. (other article)

Well, there are many other ice cream companies.

Here's how the Babylon Bee covered it

Ben And Jerry's Introduces Fun New Flavor 'Push The Jews Into The Sea Salt And Caramel'

BURLINGTON, VT—Beloved Communist ice cream company Ben & Jerry's is standing up to evil fascists who think Israel has a right to exist by boycotting West Bank settlements and East Jerusalem.

To mark the occasion, they have released a limited-edition flavor called 'Push The Jews Into The Sea Salt And Caramel'.

The new flavor will be sold in select Whole Foods locations and feature delicious organic caramel and sea salt. All proceeds will go to Iranian rocket manufacturers to arm noble Hamas mujahideen warriors in their fight to destroy the Jews.

I thought that, since Jordan used to be called "Transjordan," Ben & Jerry's would try to straddle the wokeness by coming out with a "TransJordan Almond Crunch" ice cream that would appeal to both the jihadi and the LGBT communities.

I stopped buying their products years ago.

Generally speaking, I don't boycott businesses based on their owners'/ founders' personal political views.

But if they make their politics part of their business, rubbing our faces in it, well... different story.

Make it "Air TransJordan Almond Crunch", and you get an intersectionality threefer.

I can't remember the last time I had B&J.

As for boycotts of Israel, I don't remember the artist's name, but a few years ago, a musician canceled a tour in Israel, and his manager clearly stated it was because they were receiving death threats. What BDS won on one front, they more than lost on the propaganda front - they could not say he agreed with their politics, and the death threats showed people what BDS is really like.

And I certainly don't hold it against him. No need to suffer death threats or worry they will be carried out; he's a musician, not a soldier.

But they were mostly peaceful death threats.

Similar to the Falsestinians' peace plan.

In propaganda video, China threatens to nuke Japan after Japan vows to defend Taiwan

A real president would recall the ambassador for "consultations".

And be sure to explain the US has a defense pact with Japan; a nuclear attack on Japan would result in one on China.
