Went to the men's group at church.  Did evening prayer then sat around and drank beer and talked about baptismal liturgies and Tertullian.  I'm getting to really like this church.

Oh and speaking of both theology and the morning thread photo, I’m going to say some thing that many might think of as downright blasphemous; Starbucks bagels are actually pretty good.

That sounds like an excellent evening. While I was doing dishes last night, I was listening to Ray Vander Laan talk about the rabbinical systems in first-century Israel. Fascinating stuff.

Trump wasn't the only one who saw votes disappear in midair. Recall votes for Newsom did the same thing. I'm not surprised. Nor am I surprised that San Francisco supported Newsom hugely. Reminds me too much of Illinois voting and Chicago.

Meanwhile, the women are running the Altar Guild and serving meals at the Synod. I would give an arm to attend a women's study group on that level but I doubt I could find even one other woman who would be interested, let alone one qualified to teach it.

This sounds like something from Dune...

It involves maintaining the linens and vestments, as well as the chalice and other objects used for communion. It's an important service, but it always falls to women and frankly resembles housework. The Flower Guild is also usually all female. Those are services and I'm glad there are people willing to perform them. I'm thinking about fellowship and education. I attended plenty of women's Bible studies at Evangelical churches and they were always aimed at a lower intellectual level. I have very little education in theology but I would like to be challenged.

As long as they still have time to find the Kwisatz Haderach, I'm okay with that.
