Simple, basic. Eggs, bacon, toast.  But good lord -- to desecrate one's coffee like that!

Obligatory scene

I heard that studies have shown even 2 or more cups of coffee might actually be good for you, including your heart, UNTIL you add cream and sugar.

From the Pub

I wonder - do their spacesuit helmets look like fishbowls?

Now, when the porpoises leave, we know the Earth is about to be destroyed. "So long, and thanks for all the fish"

Back from swim lessons with little guy, which went much better than they did the preceding two weeks.  No drama…

Digitizing a John Coltrane album (vinyl) I haven't heard in years.

Done

Wife hates brassy music and is visiting our daughter, so I have time to do this (the device I have requires playing through the speakers as it does it, and the volume adjusts the volume to the digital connection, too, so I can't turn it way down.

Also trying out the Microsoft "Phone companion" software that connects to the phone and allows texting, syncing photos, etc. and even making calls from the computer. Slightly flaky connection but useful. I think Win10 also has this.

The older computer I had been using is now not working well at all. 4 years is about the limit for SSD. Been taking about 30 minutes for an estimated 2 minute SSD test.

Need to get it to run long enough to uninstall software that has a limited number of licenses. Some companies do it well (Microsoft Office, for example, and Malwarebytes), where you can deactivate a license on their website. Others expect that you can uninstall it to release a license. I have PDF software like that. Used to be Nuance, but they sold to Kofax (maybe made a good sales pitch? Who gets the joke?) Kofax has better customer support, but when I asked Nuance what to do if the system wouldn't run, they said to uninstall the software. I decided they were too dumb to deal with. Unity game engine is between the two. You can release all licenses on their server, but not individual ones, and then request a new license on each system. More of a pain, but it is better than calling customer service and trying to get them to understand the issue.
