I don't know about anyone else, but I got so much sleep this weekend, I feel like I'm in a coma, almost. Crazy.

I pretty much ignored the news this weekend, so I have no clue what is going on. I assume Biden is continuing to trash this country.

I slept my usual amount and feel pretty good.  Actually enjoyed seeing the sun as I was getting up for a change.

Today, though, the beginning of the long drive.  Tomorrow will be the long dark of Illinois, from Paducah to the Wisconsin border.

No toilet for returning SpaceX crew, stuck using diapers

In today's Loony News roundup, Morning Sedition and the BBC were wringing their hands over the starvation and generally terrible conditions in Afghanistan, clearly pushing for the UN and, particularly, the West (US, of course, majorly implied) sending the Afghans all manner of aid; NPR was also wringing its hands over the rejection by NY voters of the 3 constitutional-amendment ballot initiatives which were pushing for changes in the reapportionment process, for same-day voter registration, and no-excuses-needed for absentee ballots.  This was, of course, cast as an example of dastardly conservative influence doing an end run around "initiatives essential for democracy."

In related news, one of the Republican representatives who voted for Biden's trillion-dollar hog wallow was Nicole Malliotakis, the "conservative Republican" from Staten Island who ran for mayor against Bill deBlasio the last time around.  And, for extra bonus points, the NYT article I mentioned here a few days ago that discussed the letter signed by a number of Reform and Conservative Jewish seminarians is the first article that I have read where the author uses Special Pronouns for people.

If the GOP does not make megatons of political hay out of that extaordinary video fo Energy Secretary Granholm guffawing at the idea of increasing US oil and gas production, they're worthless and incompetent.

There has been so much hay to be made going back to Fast and Furious and O'care.

The (R)s have proven to be worthless and incompetent.

See my news roundup above, which mentions that the "Republican" opponent to deBlasio the last time around is one of the 13 Republican representatives who voted for the Biden hog wallow.

What really broke me from the (R)s as O'care.

If you want us to stop O'care we don't have any power.

2010, Tea Party we gave them, what did Ryan and McCarthy give the Tea Party members shit committee assignments.

Then If you want us to stop O'care we only have The House.

We give them The Senate.

If you want to stop O'care we can't do anything without the White House.

Trump moves into the White House.

Well you see it takes time to write up the legislation?

WHISKY TANGO FOXTROT????

You've had since O'care passed to write it up.

You could have the repeal bill on Trump's desk when he got back from the Inaugural Ball.

That was after all the "investigation" into Obama's corruption went out with a whimper.

IMAO the (R)s are worse than the (D)s... the (D)s tell us who they are what the intend.

The (R)s are lyin' sacks-o-shit, without honor, integrity, spine, guts, balls or anything it takes to more than roll over and whimper.

As I have said before, they are the Palooka Party, putting up a show of opposition and then taking dives for the guaranteed short money, like a cheap palooka in a 1930s boxing movie.

I don't know if I mentioned it, but even if I did it is worth mentioning again; in the recent "election," there were something like 7 judicial slots open. One---one---had a Republican opposing the Democrat.  Another had a candidate that was endorsed by both the Democrats and Republicans.  The remaining slots had a Democrat running unopposed---no opposing candidate from the Republicans, nor from the "Conservative Party," a local "alternative" conservative fraud.  Oh yeah, that's a party that has victory on its mind.  And, to repeat from above, the "Republican" guaranteed-loser candidate opposing deBlasio last time around is one of the "Republicans" who voted for Biden's trillion-dollar hog wallow.

Even if I knew the name of a potential candidate for one of those judicial slots, my one write-in would mean nothing at all.

It makes extra work.

A write in means the ballot gets hand counted. As opposed to it just being an under vote.

I voted for the ONE "opposition" judicial candidate; I don't know whether the fraud of "ranked voting" was being used in the ballot counting for the recent one-party dictatorship ratification---excuse me, "election"---but I figured that if I voted for the one non-Democrat judge, and that judge only, there was less chance that anything I marked would be tallied in favor of some other candidate.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you Rep. Paypal won with 80% of the vote.

The good news is Seattle did vote for the more reasonable prosecutor, and not the police abolishist, but barely.

Arguably, at least, there are certain jurisdictions where it makes little sense to waste the money and time running a Republican campaign.

To NOT put up candidates for judgeships---which are not, as far as I am aware, term-limited---in the majority of races argues to me that the Republicans are not serious about winning anything.   It's bad enough that they put up guaranteed losers for offices like Mayor and City Council.  But to have abdicated all but entirely (this is not the first time I have noted the absence of "Republican" judicial candidates on the ballot) any effort to put forth a candidate for the judgeships shows me that the NYC Republicans are a piece of political theatrical-flat scenery, nothing more.

Unless, of course, some millionaire like Bloomberg pops up who is willing to buy their ballot line for a vanity candidacy.
