And if you want a good example about how “positive rights” actually enable state tyranny, well…

Merry Christmas! I didn't get a chance to respond yesterday, but your parents having lasagna and baked ziti is just delightful.

The baked ziti was actually for one of my nephews, who, I am told (never knew this before), "doesn't like lasagna".

I do not understand how anyone cannot like lasagna.  (Then again, he also doesn't like chocolate... I'm not sure what planet he's from, but he's a great kid young man anyway.)

Maybe he's anti-dairy.  Hmmmp, can't understand those people, says the resident from Dairyland.

Nope, this has nothing to do with any sort of food intolerance (though he did have a gluten allergy when he was a kid, but grew out of it).  He apparently just doesn't like these foods.

Merry Christmas!  Quiet day around here.

It was a joke, son.  I wasn't referring to an intolerance, I'm from the Dairyland.  Sometimes my humor is just unappreciated. :(

I love Christmas and the entire holiday season.  At the same, I have to admit; Christmas Day itself can actually get a little... boring.  Everything is closed, gifts are opened, etc.  But I'm going for a hike later wtih Little OR; it's 67 degrees here in DC, BECAUSE CLIMATE CHANGE IS GOING TO KILL US ALL UNLESS WE SUBMIT TO THE WHIMS OF A MENTALLY-ILL SWEDISH TEENAGER!

I still think we should dispatch one of our first-in-class nuclear attack submarines to the North Pole, to investigate for signs of clandestine industrial activity there (e.g. workshops); just so we can get the headline:

Virginia: No, There Is No Santa Claus

I know the feeling. Now that the kids are older there is no delightful chaos in the morning.  I spent some time reading sort of a book but not really concentrating thinking "I need to be doing something productive!!"  Then I reminded myself it was Christmas and I should enjoy the moment.  I did have a very pleasant text convo with a friend of mine, though it does sort of bug me that here he is, a year older than me, and has a boyfriend 30 years younger.

I kind of love that version. I think I recall reading an interview with David Bowie in which he said that he actually hated this song “the Little drummer boy“, but liked that version that he did with Bing Crosby.
