How many countries (and people) who hated Trump now wish he were back?

Given that I've seen numbers of 30% saying they wish they hadn't voted for Biden, I'd think it's much larger than than in the Democrat camps--maybe as high as 60%.

Of course, I'm of the opinion that few Democrats actually voted for him and that the Dems had to fraud their way to success, based on the states that couldn't "certify" the totals Tuesday night.

In other news, I found out (perhaps) why Trudeau rescinded the emergency measures. And this tracks with other news I've seen about moving everyone to have certified digital IDs with their governments, such as the IRS trying to require people to submit photos as part of their digital IDs. This got overturned after everyone complained, but the prevalence of facial recognition is only going to increase and it makes sense that this is going to be incorporated into it.

That there is pressure towards establishing a comprehensive digital ID system that also is hooked into "social credits" I do not doubt.  I cannot see, however, why such activity would have had the effect of forcing Trudeau to rescind the measures he had taken.

“Good” morning.

As we lurch from one chaos, to the next.

One gloomy suggestion for y’all; in addition to other “prepping” measures that are always a good idea in these weird times, consider withdrawing a chunk of cash today, to keep at home.  I can imagine Russia doing cyberattacks on US banks and payment systems in the coming days/weeks.

On an unrelated note: When I open Amazon to look for sneakers for Little OR, I see one tab urging me to “Shop white-owned businesses”, with a related link going to vendors who are all (allegedly) white.  I cannot believe such crass racism is permitted on this high-visibility platform, in the third decade of the 21st century.

Oh, wait… it’s for black-owned businesses.  Never mind!  Nothing to see here.

Oh I missed this bit of epic stupidity earlier this month.

The city of Seattle has banned most uses of fossil fuels in new buildings.

The ban on appliances like gas furnaces and gas water heaters in new construction is part of a revised energy code that applies to commercial buildings and to multifamily housing at least four stories tall.

If you have doubts the intent is not about sustainable energy, but about creating shortages, which of course will require nationalization of energy controls to solve.

We're doing the same thing in New York, and not merely in the city---the idiot governor wants to impose it statewide.

Apparently different countries are beta-testing different processes, and there is a video in the link I shared from one of the Canadian systems about the new digital pieces for banking.

Russians are focusing on power plants including Chernobyl and airports.

I'm worried about my daughter-in-law's family. She has a sister who lives in Kiev (or Kyiv) with her husband and two daughters, and her parents live about 500 km to the southeast. She is worried sick, of course, and my son is working up to 16 hours a day. I wish I could go over to help her, but with my job, it's tough. Prayers and good thoughts are much appreciated.

My question exactly. They shut down the RMBK reactors in 2000, but might still have other types operating. It's only 4 miles from Belarus.

Putin has Europe over the energy barrel, and is unwilling to respond with full sanctions. Biden's response is weak unwilling to impose full sanctions.

Putin threatens use of nuclear weapons.

Putin wins I guess.... and history repeats... again.

Putin consolidates Ukraine. Then moves on Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania....

Those are now NATO.

Will Europe stand by NATO with half their energy on the line?

Kasparov on how to deal with Putin

1. Support Ukraine militarily, 2. Bankrupt Putin's war machine, 3. Freeze & seize Russia's finances, 4. Kick Russia out of every financial institution.

Europe is too tied the Russian energy for them to sign on.

Well until Putin is a direct threat to them.

They're concerned about COVID in people close together in a war zone with active bombardment, not the bombing and shelling? Are they saying Putin should shoot everyone ( I mean with the vaccine?)

The other big problem with all that shelling and bombing, is that with all that noise it’s hard for people to hear you when you declare your preferred pronouns.
