Good morning.  Here’s an interesting (and optimistic) take.

I hope that is ture. I wonder how many liberals, in the Kennedy, Moynihan, Jackson camp see Biden's Disinformation Bureau and have a reaction to it.

I'm going down the rabbit hole and looking at the linked article about the AAP's article on transgenderism. Interesting read so far.

Cleaning out a file cabinet I came across my journal for the first half of my year abroad in 1985-86 (when I no doubt passed OR on the streets of Edinburgh). It's very funny in parts, painful to read in others.  A great deal of whinging in the later parts about British Rail.

But yes, I hear you on the "sometimes painful/cringe-inducing" part.  I kept my manly man-journal for my volunteer year in Peru.  Also an interesting, if sometimes cringey, read.

This author also wrote this article posted in American Thinker back in 2010. Compare the end of the article, with the stated goals of the LBGTQ groups, with today.

Clean Energy Has a Dirty Little Secret

Clean energy has a dirty little secret, just revealed by MIT science writing student Shel Evergreen: Its “unsustainable” appetite for minerals and the dirty ways they’re obtained.

It’s somehow news that we can’t put minerals that we don’t have into solar panels, electric car batteries, or wind turbines. It ought to be news — GIANT BOLD-TYPE HEADLINE news — that clean energy means increased carbon emissions.

It was without any apparent irony that Evergreen noted that “renewable energy comes from finite resources.”

"Just revealed?" "Just revealed????"  Anyone who has the ability to tie their own shoes and to not then crap on them has known this since forever.

Remember: The people who want you to give them carte blanche to "regulate the climate" of the entire planet are the same people who are utterly incapable of competently managing small, recently-constructed, closed, man-made systems.

They cannot competently manage a municipal water supply, a public-housing authority, a public-school system. They cannot run or maintain a public-transit system, such as those they want everyone to use in preference to private cars. They cannot adequately maintain the "roads and bridges" about which they constantly vapor.

More: they cannot competently organize disaster relief for floods or severe weather events like hurricanes, tornadoes, or droughts, let alone wildfires, earthquakes, or volcanic eruptions. They cannot maintain systems for irrigation, water storage, or hydroelectric power.

Yet these same manifestly-incompetent people purport to claim to know what the "proper" temperatures of the entire planet are or should be---a knowledge they have never shared with the world---how to attain it, and how to maintain it once attained, and to manage it for the (alleged) benefit of all.

Who would be such a fool as to give them even a second's credence?

I think there is enough evidence to justify serious consideration that all such actions are simply methods for graft for those involved. Certainly that is true of some of the big players (see: any global organization headed by the Clintons).

The part that really makes me made is that we have the resources for "clean energy" but we can mine our own resources. So we are dependent on China for most of them.

Thomas Sowell in Applied Economics discussed one stage thinking.

Let's make everyone switch to electric cars! State one....

They never ask where are we going to get the raw materials?

They never ask where are we going to get the electricity?

Magical electric cars, built out of materials we don't have, and can't obtain, powered by electricity we can't and won't generate.
