Just forwarded the stuff from the city to my attorney - be interested to see what he says.  The term that came to me in a dream last night was "undue burden."

Meanwhile, I'm hemorrhaging money lately.  The kids' school supplies are out of control.  Having to buy a car was not in my plans either.

Everyone is losing money this year just getting food. Doing anything else is going to make matters worse.

The trackpad on my laptop went haywire last night, and doesn't operate properly.  Fortunately, I still have a mouse lying around and can get some things accomplished, but it looks like the machine (ten years old) is on its last legs---or at least is going to need some serious overhaul.

Meantime, can anyone tell me how to shrink/enlarge the size of type in a window---which I'm used to doing with two fingers on the trackpad---with a mouse?  Thanks.

I'm glad you decided to get a lawyer involved. The city is much more likely to listen when you have legal representation.

Export-Import Bank Billions Meant for US Small Business Going to China, Russia, Other Corrupt Regimes

Small businesses seeking to grow their overseas sales are supposed to be the primary beneficiaries of loan guarantees by the U.S. Export-Import Bank (EX-IM), but a new analysis by a nonprofit government watchdog finds most of the funds go to corporate giants and corrupt regimes overseas.

“Small businesses, supposedly the intended beneficiary of the Export-Import Bank, received only $54.8 billion of the over $234 billion in total assistance since 2007, or about 23 percent” of the bank’s total funding, according to the report by Open The Books (OTB), a Chicago-based nonprofit that monitors government spending.

If you want to resize the window, you can move your mouse to a corner, wait for the mouse pointer to turn into a double-ended arrow, and then click and drag the mouse.

Sigh. Why am I not surprised.

Thanks.  I think the battery is dying on me, but there are some other weird hiccups going on too.

It's not the size of the window---it's the size of the type/images IN the window that I can't seem to do with the mouse.  Been so long since I've used one.  The other weird thing is that the windows seem to suddenly flee to the outer margins of the screen, and I have to click on the tiny showing edges at the edge of the screen to get them back.

I used to---but somewhere around 1 1/2 laptops ago I started using the trackpad, and it's become second nature now; until the computer started hiccuping yesterday, I hadn't used a mouse in years.

I despise track pads. In any case, it sounds like you need a new laptop.

I have considered the last stanza often:

Still, thou art blest, compar’d wi’ me!

The present only toucheth thee:

But Och! I backward cast my e’e,
          On prospects drear!
An’ forward tho’ I canna see,
          I guess an’ fear!
