Howdy.  So there was actually an interesting piece on NPR “How I Built This”, an interview with the founder of a company that is seeking to vastly expand the areas of the world where geothermal energy is viable, by using news drilling technology to drill much deeper, much faster:

What I found amusing was that at one point the interviewee, who is an engineer, started talking about the limitations of wind and solar, describing in some detail the problem of energy density. The host *quickly* redirected him back to talking about geothermal.

I think the real objective of the leaders of the "green" movement is to destroy civilization, and drastically reduce human population. Lemming leaders. I just wish they'd jump off first and let the rest of us alone.

in that respect, I was almost surprised that they allowed this guy to be interviewed on an NPR show. He was quite realistic and describing the limitations of wind and solar, and sounds genuinely dedicated to the mission of actually providing abundant, affordable energy to the world.

I would not be surprised to have someone on NPR later bash geothermal because of all the drilling it entails with pollution from drilling fluids, etc

They won't be happy until all of us are dead.

A few years ago, I started writing a novel that blamed the whole environmental movement and other cultural changes on aliens that wanted to take over Earth to live on. They did not like the idea of killing other sentient beings, but were fine with getting them to kill themselves.

I stopped for a while, and re-read it to start again, and realized how lousy it was. The concept is good, but I have a lot of trouble with dialog.

Should anyone be interested, we can collaborate, but I think it would have a hard time getting published.

I have to say, it sounds a little bit derivative of “the screwfly solution “.

The plot is significantly different, and pulls in various conspiracy theories, like the Kennedy assassination,
