Happy Human Sacrifice and Cannibalism Day!

I've not been around much - unpacking and organizing the new house. It is feeling very much like home.  By Wednesday I'll be able to get back to work in my new office.  I'm really looking forward to that.

Prediction based on what I've been seeing in the news:  Putin is going to get whacked by someone on the inside within the next few months.

So, “Indigenous People’s Day” by definition excludes African-Americans, right?  Sounds downright racist to me.

Glad to hear that you are settling in. In terms of your prediction, that may be the best outcome for all involved, other than Putin of course.  But for now, with his military failing in the field, Putin seems to have reverted to doing what he does best; blowing up apartment buildings full of civilians.

Good news, everyone! Randi Weingarten is off to “the border” to “assess” the whole Russia/Ukraine “situation”.

Now if she can convince the Russian soldiers they are really trans women, and all have to go off for treatment,,,,,

That was said because of the way the NEA must support all the schools' trans efforts.

From Saturday's "Week in Pictures".

Believe it or not, this is something quite common in our area.  I've never seen them loading or unloading their boats at the boat landings, but it is not unusual to see them driving through town to the lakes/ponds.  I have to admit though, the first time I saw it I thought it was hysterical.

No no motorcars but motorboats are OK? I could understand a rowboat, though, but that one seems to have an outboard.

Zooming in, what I thought was an ouboard seems to be a person walking behind the boat.

Whew. The universe remains in balance, then.

Ours use gas engines all the time.  How do you think they churn out that delicious ice cream?  I am more surprised at the rubber tires on the boat trailer. It's supposed to be steel wheels only I thought.  Maybe that's just for their buggies.

The Electric Amish - Black Bonnet Girls

Kosh, I thought this was going to be what your link was going to.  Thanks, guess what my ear worm is going to be all night now?

The Wierd Al piece has some interesting things if you watch carefully. Feeding the chickens pizza. A Kellog's Corn Flakes box somewhere. A wrist-sundial.

Google (or whatever your choice is) them.  Youtube has a lot of them on.  You'll die laughing (what better way to go).  The clips from the Bob and Tom show are usually the best, but you have to listen to a lot of talking before the music finally starts.

Tom Doyle used to do songs about towns in the area on the Loren and Wally show.

Most of his songs are up on youtube, but they aren't as funny if you don't know the area.

Other Loren and Wally bits are there, too; largely ancient jokes they act as "Men from Maine" (ayup)

As for Tom's Townie tunes, here's:

Charlestown

Haverhill

Anybody see the story over the weekend about Biden having his pants on backwards.  A photo shows what appears to be the side pockets opening in the wrong direction and a belt loop in the middle front.  People were arguing if it was an optical illusion or whether he could have possibly has done this and why.  I couldn't get over the fact that people actually were discussing whether the president of the United States had his pants on backwards.  How far we've fallen as a nation.
