Oh, I'm expecting something along these lines. I was thinking the National Guard was set up so that the state militias couldn't do a repeat of what happened during the civil war.

I mean, when the government puts out another piece of partial truth related to Social Security payments and someone gives the full context and all the government people are whining, they demonstrate that they don't know how to compete on a fair playing field. So I expect them to enforce their preferred playing field.

Occam's razor of course says, a crazy drug addict broken in an assault Paul.

It's almost like the left takes these cases and muddies the water just so they can say, "see conspiracy nuts, ignore them".

It wouldn't be so bad if the press would ask the questions that we're asking: where was security? How did a crazy drug addict get into the house? Who else was he wanting to go after? Why did he let Pelosi use the restroom and call police? It's the amount of incuriousness that is driving me batty.

You know what it sounds like? The high power dem bundler who lured homeless drug addicts into his home and raped them.

The Pelosi story has the same vibe to it.

Sure, I can see some similarities. But to consider this scenario, you have to know about the dem bundler who did it first. I mean, if you don't know about some people's proclivities, you won't even consider this as possible.

Lots of incurious journalists out there.

You were supposed to have forgotten about that by now, Comrade. (cough Ed Buck cough)

For that matter: How many Democrats are aware of (just for instance) the fact that Joe Biden referred to his then-running mate Obama as "the first mainstream African-American who's clean and articulate"?   You have to read "right wing" media to be aware that such a thing even happened.  The MSM buried the story.

It's like the election, the covid response, Epstein, climate.... etc...

If you ask questions, you are called names, shut down, banned and all that.

As soon as you shut down any questions, the conspiracies start.

As Glenn Greenwald (!) has succinctly noted: The Democrats are hell-bent on criminalizing political opposition.

There she was, just a-tryin' to get in school
Singin' "diversity, equity, and inclusion too!"
But her SATs made her look like a fool
Singin' "diversity, equity, and inclusion too!"
She got in (she got in!)
Despite all of her test scores
Her commitment to DEI trumped all of her test scores...

Althouse-female-beauty-pageants

Can anyone explain to me the difference between a beauty pageant and a girls' athletic team?  Some days I just don't even want to get out of bed anymore.  Life in my nightmares seems more normal than reality lately.

The girls on an athletic team don't need to be good looking, and the women in a beauty pageant don't need to be able to play a sport well.

(I know, that is not what you were asking. I guess to the courts, sports are not a form of speech.)

The trans in the beauty pageant probably don't go through any more make-up/hair preparations than the non-trans do.  Also, I believe there is a talent portion of the contest, so the "women" are competing in some sort of skills test,

I guess it did boil down to a first amendment issue. "Mandating Miss USA allow Green to be in the pageant would amount to forcing the pageant to say that transgender women are included in a vision of ideal American womanhood and that would amount to compelled speech, the court held."

I still find it amusing in what is good for the goose is not good for the gander!

Beauty pageants aren't government funded, so they don't have to go along with wokeness to get paid, unlike school sports.

The pageants would go out of business if they had to accept transgenders. Their audience would not watch.

Schools can be threatened with loss of government funding if they don't get with the program.

And our government is run by elites who think they know better than anyone else. And if the people don't agree, then it is a threat to democracy!

I was trying to find a bit from SNL years ago, with either Eric Idle or Michael Palin, where they went to the drag races -

but instead of cars, it was men in drag.

Can't find it.

Did see an SNL drag beauty queen sketch, but did not watch it

You prove your point.
