I did notice, on Facebook, a huge overlap between these two groups: Those that smugly spent most of last year claiming that they “believed in science” Those that blamed their problems earlier this year on Mercury being in retrograde

You know, that explains so much. The argument I've seen is that you don't *believe* in science, because science has to be proven, but of course that doesn't even register with that crowd.

Happy Monday, everyone.

I'd say, rather; one doesn't "believe in science", because science is not a belief, it's a method.

Good morning, y'all.

Sure, it's Monday.  But things could be worse.  You could be living here

Yay, my concealed carry permit renewal came through.  That was relatively quick, too.

A method, that leads to knowledge. Not belief.

Knowing, is different from belief. For me a key is allowing belief to be changed by knowledge. And that knowledge is also changeable.

IMAO, part wisdom is the discernment to know the difference between belief and knowledge, and when new knowledge truly supplants the old.

I know a cop who deals with the belief issue as the difference between facts and the inference from the facts.

I remember arguing about "belief in science" with Mad King Charles over at SOB.  It was, in fact, one of the reasons for my fall from favor/unpersoning over there.

New York Times falsely claims that Hunter Biden laptop had been "stolen".

They lie.  It's what they do.

How is that relevant to the information on it?

Let's play along. It was stolen, taken to the repair shop, and not picked up.

The shop was within rights to do what it did, and that has no effect on the data on the machine, or it's admissibility in a court.

I'm beginning to wonder if I have any blood relative who, give the chance, wouldn't fuck me over.

Sheesh.

Hey, fuck me over—

Because you’re kin

I won’t know till it’s over;

When did you begin?

You smile and prevaricate

To cover it up

You figure since we’re related by blood

I won’t see you’re corrupt

But I’ll erupt in your face, bud, and get back at you

I look forward to the time that I can jam

Your foot in the other shoe

I’m just a mite short on tolerance now—

In fact, I’m kind of pissed

So look out, cuz—here’s my fist!

There was supposed to be a note that this was to the tune of "Hey, Look Me Over," but apparently it got lost in transport.
