Verizon landline broke (repair fixed the service like a vet fixes a dog - DSL was working; 6 hours after the voice service repair BOTH DSL and voice went out with no line.)

Put in another service request that was closed as fixed - but not fixed. Another service call and they scheduled the repair a week later.

Got a mobile hotspot at Best Buy as an emergency device, first verizon wireless person scheduled an activation for 24 hours later; spent this morning getting it activated now. Does work, and faster than DSL, up to a data limit, then down to DSL speed at worst unlimited

Mass. dept of telecom and cable got back to me - they have contacted Verizon. I guess being told a phone will be out of service for a week and a half gets their attention

My guess is Verizon needs to replace a cable, which needs a crew or 2 crews, and could not schedule it that fast.

The repair yesterday might have stressed the old cable and it failed.

Kosh, sorry to hear about your telecoms woes.

I hope this is good for a chuckle.  (Hardly new, but I still find it amusing.)

Heh. Every once in a while, the government can actually do something good. Too bad it's such a rarity.

We never got good DSL speeds so I went with a microwave network company given where we live in the country. Much better network speeds, almost the exact same price.

Discussion question: Why is the MSM "allowing" the news about the mislaid Biden classified documents?

Is it to prepare the ground for ditching him in 2024?

Something like that is going on. One speculation I've seen is that since Biden did the same thing Trump did but worse (as he didn't have the ability to declassify docs), this would allow the DOJ to simply get rid of both investigations at once. But if that's the case, then why make such a big deal about it? Getting rid of Biden seems like a goal of someone--perhaps Newsom folks are pushing Biden out?

NPR has been desperately beating the drum that what Trump did was much, much worse (because Joe is cooperating, etc.).

So why release the story, then? Because if they didn't want anyone to know about it, they wouldn't even whisper about it. We need to tap into the rumor mill in Washington.

So the escalation to the state got Verizon to call. Turns out the 2nd repair that was closed was due to the central office running a test and fixing something, BUT the line had been held open somehow too long and was turned off. Disconnecting everything and reconnecting it reset the line and it works now.

The Biden documents were "officially" discovered "shortly before the election"---but who knows how long they were actually known of?

This raises the question of whether the raid on Mar-a-Lago was actually done to lay the groundwork either for sloughing Biden as well as "getting" Trump, or to provide an escape hatch for abandoning the pursuit of Trump in exchange for letting Biden skate (and, possibly, getting the Republicans to back off investigations into the Joe & Hunter Corruption Club).

It can be played either way, whether or not the Trump raid was planned as a prophylactic.

Those sneaky Joooos: Spy cows!

In an interview with Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, the PA’s official daily newspaper, the elder of an Arab village in the West Bank recently claimed to have found cows that are actually “recruited and trained” spies for the Jewish state — or, as some social media users suggested, the secretive Moossad agency.

These cows are a special breed, from Guernsey and Holstein cows, called a Goldstein. Instead of going "Moooo" they say "Nu?"

(I had to milk this for all it is worth, but I could not come up with an udder joke)

Their claim is udder nonsense.  Sure, perhaps those joos tend to be a little Bossy, but not like this...
