Wow. That's quite a vista in that picture today.

Farmers Insurance Company Pulls Out of Florida – Another 100,000 Policies Will Not Be Renewed

The only person I see talking about this (in Florida) is Sundance--or at least, that's the only place that's showing up in the places I read.

The insurance industry is NOT doing well; it costs so much more to rebuild things in the Biden economy. Don't I remember seeing a story about insurance woes in California, too? Why yes. Yes I did

"This issue of transportation is fundamentally about just making sure that people have the ability to get where they need to go!"

The author says he was critical of FL insurance regulations... but not what the problem actually is.

Closest I can come is property values are too high and insurance companies are avoiding the risk of paying out on high value properties.

I think the impact of being in a hurricane zone is also playing strongly into this. Hurricane Ian cost boatloads to recover from, and a lot of the work isn't done yet. Add in the Biden economy and the outlay in costs is close to astronomical.

And, times being what they are, I also have to wonder if this isn't a political ploy aimed at DeSantis.

That would not surprise me at this point.

That crossed my mind, the article said the policies were pre-DeSantis.

That doesn't mean the insurance companies aren't playing politics.
