The indoctrination continues: Biden to Launch Kiddie Klimate Korps Jobs Training Program

  • They want to provide great resume enhancers for the Ivy League students.
  • They want to provide opportunities for graft for the families of the Washington bureaucracy.
  • They want to browbeat us into submission.

Although I love this paragraph, because it's mostly true:

Does anyone really think Biden is going to find 20,000 young people to work outside in forest management? Wetlands restoration? These kids can’t survive without wifi—and forget about sleeping in a tent.

Ezra Levant was in Canadian federal court yesterday, trying to prevent the government from censoring his book about Justin Trudeau. I haven't heard any leftists standing up for him, but of course they wouldn't.

"472,000 illegal immigrants from Venezuela, about whom we know absolutely nothing, have the right to stay in the U.S. and even get jobs. The Romeike family, who came here [from Germany] to escape what amounts to religious harassment and have complied with the law every step of the way, have to pack up and go home."

Note there is a petition at the link to support the Romeikes' stay in the US, although this story needs to be raised far and wide in order to have any hope they will be able to withstand the Biden administration.

I am incredulous at what’s happening in Western “liberal democracies”.

One of the guys on my team at work is a natural born US Citizens of Mexican descent. He married a Mexican citizen, they met while he was visiting family in Mexico. When the shut down hit he worked remotely from Mexico.

It took him 2 and half years to get through all the bureaucracy to get his family their residency visa. While doing that he had to reside 6 months plus one day in the US. It worked from Mexico the rest of the time.

Oh, our big evil corporation provided and paid for the immigration lawyers.

And it turned on a dime, seemingly. It started with Obama, but Trudeau has taken the baton and run with the insanity.

That's great to hear. A former coworker left our company to take a job at a company that would support her process to become a naturalized citizen.

And from what little I know, none of their so-called charges are actually actionable. It's all nonsense. The problem is, he's speaking a lot of truth and is making an impact, and that is drawing attention to him; hence, the attacks. Sarah Hoyt has apparently had a similar type of problem although not of a legal sort; some group keeps trying to hack her accounts and take her down.

I have political difference with the company, it has fully bought into climate change. But I'm glad I took the job. The project is awesome, and my team is great.

But the company has a whole does a bunch of stuff that doesn't make the news. 2/3 of the workers are in the fulfillment centers. If I was starting out again, I would seriously think about that because of the opportunity provide. They provide apprenticeships for people to learn to service the robots, then to transition to the teams that develop and build them. They provide classes to become a software developer, without a college degree. I a few years a person can go from sorting boxes into a software tech role with a very good salary.

In Seattle they gave I think 5 floors of one of the buildings to Mary's Place a shelter for women and their children, yes that would be a huge tax write off of course.

In my group, we see very little of the DEI stuff, we have to take the annual training online. But being a hardcore and in many respect cutting edge engineering group nobody has time or inclination for it, and it really does depend a person work and little else. We had one person come on board and the introductory email had they / them pronouns. That person start spamming the chat channels with DEI stuff but it ended in less than a week.

Well, think about it; this seems to give tacit approval to the line that US colleges aren't producing workers who can do the job. If they do the training themselves, they can totally control the process of education to make sure the people get the training and details they need to do the job. That is actually a big indictment against higher ed in the US, so they wouldn't want to advertise that necessarily.

Hopefully that person hasn't started pouting about being oppressed. That seems to often be the next step when they start to realize that not everyone wants to talk about this nonsense 24/7. It's as if their mere existence is a reason to talk about DEI all the time, instead of the job they were hired to do.

All true. It also builds employee loyalty.

Cypress Semi, gave me a lot of opportunity and training to get my current skill set. I wouldn't have left if they hadn't sold my division.

It worked out in the end for the better.

Well, I was going to drive up to NY tomorrow, to be there for my Dad's 90th birthday (among other things).

Given the weather forecast, it looks like I'm driving up tonight, to beat the storm.  Estimated arrival, 1 am -ish.  Sooo, it's naptime...

A belated thank you.

It was a smooth drive, arrived about 12:45 am, then couldn’t quite fall asleep until after three.  Ugh.
