What is the probability that was the impetus for the comment? High, I think.

Good morning, campers. I cannot help but compare the Left's enraged cries regarding "Me Too" in trying to entrap Trump in 2020 to their callous indifference to what is happening to women and children at the border. Oh, I know it's not indifference; I know it's a means to a goal to have enough bodies here to ensure that they can steal the next election. But the chosen ignorance of human suffering should be enough to prevent any rational human being from ever seeing the Left as compassionate ever again.

If we needed any more evidence of how Washington works with and supports the drug cartels, some of these stories are clear demonstrations of it. All for temporary power that they can't even figure out how to wield effectively.

Pentagon Says U.S. Troops Won’t Get Paid During Potential Government Shutdown—but Ukraine Will

Well, they know they need to keep letting the stealing of money sent to Ukraine continue or else people will start to really get upset. ::facepalm::

The more I see about how we're supporting Ukraine, the less I like it.

I was never a "supporter" of Ukraine, but more of stop Russian aggression, an if we can do that by proxy fine.

I know with a dreadful certainty that if Putin succeeds in Ukraine he turn toward the Baltic States.

Sure he'll manufacturer and incident to make it look like the Baltic States are the aggressors to muddy the waters.

WA Ferries are critical infrastructure for transportation, they are considerate part of the state highways.

Fungus, bacteria in Walla Walla fuel caused ferry to run aground in April

I know from reading naval histories etc... regular fuel testing, filtering changes, tank cleaning are required by USCG regs.

If the logs show maintenance, the logs were falsified.

Protoflight: Project Kuiper payload placed atop Atlas V

A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket stands ready to launch prototype spacecraft for Amazon's Project Kuiper, a satellite network that will provide fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

I'll be honest; I haven't read much about Kuiper. Is it designed to be a competitor to Starlink? Or is the focus/intent different?

Good day all.  Officially married and back from the honeymoon and very, very busy.  We both came home with colds (apparently brought by small relatives as a wedding gift).  I've posted a few pictures on the Frontier for those interested.

Competitor. The market space is huge so there is room for both.

Kuiper is planning on high speed and bandwidth, and lower cost. Kuiper can leverage the the AWS infrastructure for the terrestrial side.

Amazon is clear about the devices, TVs, Kindle, all the hardware offerings that they sell at or below cost, with the idea that customers will then use services and make other purchases. So far that strategy is working.

Amazon just got sued by the FTC for having an online monopoly. Objectively as I can, Amazon has less than 40% of online retail in the US. But when it comes to total retail something like 4%. The suite reminds me of the Microsoft suite 20 years ago over IE on windows. The politicians didn't have a clue how API worked. The suite smells political.

And I showed up today in jeans! Bother, I'm always underdressed.

Seriously, the happiest of wishes you for you and your bride!

I followed a trail of internet breadcrumbs back to a story about a heretofore unknown language showing up on a cuneiform tablet in a Hittite site, and found it interesting--but it would be more interesting to have someone who specializes in archeological languages to provide some more context for this.

Disturbing article at PJMedia about satanic cults in general and how the ones from Mexico are coming here. Article link is to PJMedia for those with paying accounts. For those without, there is a link to the Internet Archive. Be aware.

After the Wenatchee child abuse / cult hoax I have a reflexive suspicion of stories like this.

Not saying in way this one is the same, but I take extra care in vetting stories of this type.

Yes, I thought of that, but based on some comments in the article I am less skeptical than I would be. There is an actual court case involved here with photographic evidence being presented, and there are pictures attached that seem to support the allegations.

It's interesting to look back on the child abuse/molestation hysteria of that era, like the McMartin preschool case and others of that time, and then contemplate how many people now are avidly arguing for the ever-younger sexual grooming of children in public---or should I say, "pube-lick?"---schools.
