I've been listening to NPR ("National Palestinian Radio"), and it's amazing how, despite all the lockdowns in Gaza, and the cessation of this or that service, the "news"-people there seem to be doing just fine. They have no trouble finding people to interview; all their electronics and broadcasting equipment works, they're not starving or dying of thirst (nor are their interviewees), yet we are all supposed to be Deeply Moved by their interviewees' descriptions of the (alleged) horrors of the Israeli foray into Gaza. Meanwhile---as people holding passports from everywhere from the US to Slovakia to Ungabunga flee Gaza (why were they there in the first place? Gaza is hardly a tourist destination), which sort of shows that the tight interdiction of Gaza is nonsense, these same news correspondents do not seem able to balance their sob stories about the privations of Gaza with one single interview with someone in Israel who had a loved one abducted by the Hamas murderers. Interesting example of unbalanced "balanced coverage."

And in the same vein, I notice that when NPR or PBS deign to interview an Israeli, the interviewee has to genuflect with some version of "... of course I criticize the government of Israel". Oddly, Pali interviewees are never similarly required to criticize the government of Gaza (i.e. Hamas).
