Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. No news from me today, other than to wish everyone a wonderful day with family and friends and just the right amount of your favorite foods.

For all the craziness going on in our country, I still feel incredibly blessed that I have been able to grow up and live here. I am thankful for a roof over my head, food on my table, my family, my friends in person and remote, and good books to read when I need to escape (better than movies in my limited opinion, Kosh).

I agree with a previous speaker! There are plenty of things to worry about in this world, but plenty of things we can be thankful for as well. Let’s focus on the latter today. Happy Thanksgiving!

I think pro-Hanas crazies getting crushed by a giant Snoopy would be a Thanksgiving miracle:

They weren't also protesting the LGBTQ+ and trans themes of the parade?

I guess it is Jooos first.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sitting out on the WA coast warming up Thanksgiving dinner in a cabin with a spectacular view over the ocean on a cyrstal clear. Day.
Tried posting a pic, but limited internet access.

So much to be thankful for, the least being sitting here with a georgous view.

Our house has some scenic views of woods. Didn't take pictures of the turkeys crossing the road; too far away.

Still want a video of a wild turkey flying.

Neither of us can sit down for a big dinner. Eating it slowly with breaks.

Cooking (I do that) not bad.

But putting it away afterwards - partially done. Will have a lot to freeze.

And I think the dark meat will be good in turkey tacos.

The "hot open face turkey sandwiches" will be good, but not as good as before I had to be gluten free.

One thing I am thankful for is where I work strictly bans political discussion.

I will never go in to find a "Free Palestine" banner. If I did I'd add "From the Arabs"

I'm thankful that I have a wireless internet connection that gives me over 20 Mbps so I can download "50 years of Atari" games in only a little over an hour.

I wonder (but won't bother calculating) how long that would be over a 1200 bps Modem

OK, I will calculate:

20x10^6 / 1.2x10^3

Over 200 hours

Overnight with DSL (1/10th the speed)

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  I've been under the weather for the last three days plus, so haven't had much energy to spend time online.  I hope those who saw my Thanksgiving poem here a few days back enjoyed it.

Just finished a craft project; built a "shtender"---a lectern used for books when praying while standing---out of 95% salvaged materials.  I found an elementary-school children's desk from about 100 years ago on the street (people throw out the most remarkable stuff in this neighborhood), which stood about 2 feet high on its two two-section cast-iron legs.  To raise it to an adult-usable height, I created two wooden uprights by glueing together two separate bundles of five wooeden Venetian-blind slats (also street salvage).  Had to spend a little on nuts, bolts, and furniture glides, and some square dowels for cross-braces, but the whole thing went together pretty easily.  I just finished screwing on my nameplate, calligraphed on a handmade paper and screwed onto the front of the upper area.
