I have had a hectic week, so I never got to get back to paying for the site.

I still have to look it up; something like $100/yr (but I think it costs more fo be able to download a backup of the database)

vxbush has said she will handle it; I do not want to get money from anywhere that could be questioned.

I hope to have time over the weekend (not likely) to look up more info and post it.

Chicago aldermen voted to block a symbolic question that would have been placed on the March primary ballot asking whether voters wanted to end the city's status as a sanctuary city.

They can't actually ask people what they should do--that would imply actual representative leadership. But note what Mayer Brandon said the day before: “This is a crisis. As I’ve said, it’s not going to go away because people are upset... . Now unfortunately, you have individuals that have used this as a way to execute its meanness ... that type of meanness has caused the type of strife that we’re experiencing now.”

"Meanness"? The way I interpret that, he thinks following the law is meanness.

It's time for a serious number crunching but I don't have time to do it. The claim has been presented that humans exhale elevated concentrations of methane and nitrous oxide, which contribute to global warming. In a story on COP28 not completely getting us off fossil fuels, the article quotes the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, which says "We would urge caution in the assumption that emissions from humans are negligible."

I want to crunch the numbers. How much total methane and nitrous oxide could the entire human population exhale compared to the amount of both gasses in the atmosphere? And how do those current values compare to historical numbers from thousands of years ago?

Perhaps I can figure this out later.

Oh, hell yes.

Get at least a 5" barrel, shorter and the recoil is a bit much and the accuracy suffers.
