Appeals Court: Hundreds of J6 Defendants Had Their Sentences Improperly Lengthened

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit is one of the most liberal courts in the country. But even these judges found the sentences for "interfering with the administration of justice" for the January 6 defendants to be outrageously long.

While we were laughing at the proprietor at some other blog about a focus on "Christian dominionism", the fixation lately on "Christian Nationalists" sounds eerily familiar. Must history rhyme so often?

What's sad is when the journalist denouncing Christian Nationalists does so while ignoring the US' own founding document. But I'm guessing that's an old document written in cursive so it can be ignored.

Um......Biden Announces Food Aid Drop on Gaza As Famine Concerns Grow

Note this line: "USAID administrator Samantha Power announced an additional $53 million in additional U.S. humanitarian assistance to Gaza."

How much aid goes to Gaza each year? I've lost count. And now we're expanding it. For people who rape and kill people for being Jewish.

Well, it helps if I read the rest of the article: "The aid convoy was part of a new Israeli initiative to bypass aid agencies and deliver food directly to Palestinian businessmen."

The aid convoy that devolved into a disaster on Thursday, ending with scores of Palestinians dead, was part of a new Israeli operation to get desperately needed food to Gaza residents by working directly with local businessmen, according to an Israeli official, Palestinian businessmen and Western diplomats.

In a rare move, Israel was involved in organizing at least four such aid convoys to northern Gaza this past week after international aid groups suspended operations to the area, citing both Israeli refusals to greenlight aid trucks and rising lawlessness. But on Thursday, that effort spiraled out of control.

So how is just dropping the food going to be any better? It sounds like there is no group controlling the distribution of anything, and I have little to make me think these people are willing to self-organize to prevent such issues again.

Just FYI, this should also put to rest the idea of Trump not being on the Illinois ballot as well.....

It should, but I am positive they find a novel idea and a bought and paid for judge to try it again.

I was expecting the result, but not that unanimity.  A small ray of hope that reason might prevail.

UN found 'reasonable grounds' to believe Hamas committed sexual violence on Oct. 7

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The U.N. envoy focusing on sexual violence in conflict said in a new report Monday that there are “reasonable grounds” to believe Hamas committed rape, “sexualized torture,” and other cruel and inhumane treatment of women during its surprise attack in southern Israel on Oct. 7.

I guess Hamaz taping their actions and bragging about it is not enough evidence.

I read earlier today (do I recall where? Heavens, no) that while they all agreed on the result, only the six conservative-leaning justices agreed to write the argument; the liberal judges did not concur on the reasoning behind the conclusion. I could be misconstruing what I read, so take with a giant slug of salt.

Trump told all the media that he was in
"I will run run run,
I will run run..."
He said he's sick and tired of Biden's senile grin
"I will run run run,
I will run run...
Yes, I am in this to win;
I'm tired of Biden's senile grin---
And, when we win the White House back,
I will have run, run, I'll have run run..."

Note I do not mean we should enjoy the killing, but to keep being civilized, a society's gotta do what a society;s gotta do.
