I guess that since Dhimmi Carter's installation of Khomeini, the Iranians have had an advanced-study course in the truth of the old adage that more tears are shed over answered prayers than over unanswered ones.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 14: The nexus of the protest in Iran was Tehran University. The Shah played a dicey game with the Soviets, non-lethal military transport equipment he bought from Russia. Also Russian and Bulgarian exchange students. We learned later from friends in the intel business many of the "exchange" students were agents. We see the same pattern here now. A few paid Marxist agitators on campus, a lot of organization via TikTok using Russian and ChiCom controlled accounts.

Reply to vxbush in 18: The preliminary NTSB report is out. What happened is main circuit breakers tripped causing loss of power and steering. The main propulsion using that main power for things like lubrication, fuel injectors, etc.... So they lost steering and propulsion. The emergency generators came on, but those don't run steering or the engine systems. By the time they got everything switched over to the secondary breakers it was too late. Why the main breakers tripped is not in the report.
