On the Israeli version of Sesame Street, does the Count count the Omer?

This is fourteen days which is two weeks of the Omer. Ha, Ha, Ha

Counting the Omer is the short-form version of counting up to the Jubilee Year---something that, for some reason, no Orthodox organization teaches.

The days are counted until the seventh day, the Sabbath.

The months are counted from Nisan (the "first month," the month of Passover) until Tishrei, the seventh month, which is the month of Rosh HaShanah, which is the "Sabbath month" in that it is mostly holidays.

The years are counted in sevens, the seventh being the shmitta year---the Sabbath year---when the fields are not tilled.

After seven shmitta years (a cycle of 49, like the days of the Omer) we get the Jubilee Year, when debts are cancelled and the fields are not tilled.

Shavuos---the holiday which celebrates the giving of the Torah---is the fiftieth day after the seven-times-seven counting of the Omer.

These are all macro- and micro- versions of the countdown to redemption.

Good observations. And as you said, I have not seen this in Artscroll or Kehot (Chabad)

Article just went up on PJM about a nurse who has just been laid off in Oregon; hospital is going broke because it's all shut down save for covid patients, and there aren't any covid patients.

This whole shutdown looks more and more like the scam of all time.

As states open up, I think we'll see a cascading effect.  Georgia is slated to reopen, but the Demonrat mayor of Atlanta is trying to keep the city shut down.  That can't work if the rest of the state reopens.

One question:  if this was so bad, why haven't we seen massive infection rates among "essential" employees?
