Good morning. Wife went back to work this morning and said that I have to get the butler cleaning the keep. Yes, I was given a small chore list to start. Will be getting the weekly to do list soon enough. Right now just relaxing waiting for the heat wave to pass. Got the A/C units in place a week or so ago so things will be chilled nicely soon enough. Just have to keep the Squire amused and happy.

I do a write up on errors I found in one section of the kids online math course.

10 sample problems, 3 errors. Documented, screen shot, with correct solutions.

Sent to online math teachers.

No discussion of what I provided. Just, "the course is correct, it was vetted by experts."

I wrote back, a bit pissed, "Thank you I won't bother again since you are part of the problem."

Two things Oldest Boy and I have talked about recently.

1) "diverse" always and only ever means "black."

2) Why is it that blacks always seem to need "leaders"?  The rest of us seem to get along well enough without them.

I really wish I could be a fly on the wall across the nation to see how many people are turning off their TVs and radios because this story is the only one that is being pushed nonstop.

Andy Ngo is reporting that overnight Antifa took over a section of Seattle, sealed it off with barricades and is using armed men to defend the perimeter.  And the mayor is all cool with it.

I cannot count the number of times that my fellow math students found errors that were never corrected in books.

What typically happens when a math textbook is produced is that while one name is on the cover, the book is actually written by a committee at the publisher. Then they have a grad or undergrad student make up the problems in the book and come up with the solutions in back. At least 10% of the answers will be wrong in every book.

What I have witnessed first hand is that in one series of calculus textbooks the proofs were removed between revision 5 and revision 6, and no explanation was given at all as to why particular transformations in integrals worked. The dumbing down of even the best courses continues.

Yep. I've mentioned before here the phenomenon of white DC liberals referring to a given neighborhood as "diverse", which generally means it's monoculturally black-American.

"2) Why is it that blacks always seem to need "leaders"?  The rest of us seem to get along well enough without them.

And, related, why is it that (apparently) only Peopleses of Colorses need to be led, taught, etc. by  "people who look like them"?  For instance, I don't recall walking into my 8th grade Latin class, taking one look at Mrs. M., the teacher, and shrieking "OMG SHE'S BLACK SHE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE ME I CAN'T EVEN!!!"

Wow.

This is utter fucking madness.  And we'll be luck if it doesn't end in 1) a shooting civil war, or 2) an authoritarian dictatorship, or 3) both.

Mayor Beatlejuice tells alderman he's "full of shit" for asking her what she was going to do in the wake of the riots.

This is what happens when you elect your mayor completely on the basis of intersectionality points.

A client just forwarded an email emanating from Adam Schiff, trying to build grassroots support for "the Justice in Policing Act of 2020":

Over the past two weeks, millions of people have stood up and spoken out for justice for Black Americans in cities and towns across the country. Thousands have taken to the streets. And we in Congress heard you, loud and clear.

In direct response to these calls for systemic change to stop police brutality and discrimination against Black Americans, Democrats in the House and Senate have swiftly come together to propose a package of the most sweeping and progressive reforms to policing ever.

Yesterday, Democrats – led by the Congressional Black Caucus – proposed the Justice in Policing Act of 2020, legislation including a wide-ranging set of reforms to start the creation of real, structural change when it comes to policing in America.

If passed, this bill would:

    • Make it easier to punish police misconduct and hold officers accountable through criminal charges and civil penalties;
    • Ban no-knock warrants in drug-related cases, like the one that resulted in Breonna Taylor’s death;
    • Ban the use of choke-holds, like the one that killed George Floyd;
    • Create a national registry to track police misconduct and abuse;
    • Enact other structural and funding changes, and more.

I’ve joined more than 200 colleagues in Congress in cosponsoring this progressive and comprehensive legislation to force change. In order to get it passed, we need to show Republicans that the American people demand it.

Apparently, they're now objecting to police body cams---which the Left was all for until recently---for fear that use of them might "inhibit the exercise of free speech" by demonstrators.

Believe All Criminals!

They don't want body cams because they want the mere accusation of police brutality to carry a death sentence.  We've already seen this.

You'd think that---since the criminals were the ones insisting on bodycams and now don't want them because it puts them at a disadvantage---people would look askance on the current criminal-generated proposals for restricting the police.

But, apparently not.

The police were at the wrong house. Even if they'd been at the right house and knocked politely, there's an excellent chance that trigger-happy chucklehead would have shot that poor girl anyway. The problem is not the policy, it's the person.

I hadn't heard that. I could see issuing a warrant, but I see no reason they would have needed a no-knock warrant and all that firepower. I actually do think no-knock warrants should be used sparingly and police had better be very sure they have their ducks in a row.

I supposed, since this is about drugs, so the suspects don't have a chance to flush the evidence (or otherwise destroy it).

It's a tough one.  If I heard people trying to break down my door, I'd grab a firearm, too.  And even if they're shouting "POLICE!"... well, home invaders are perfectly capable of shouting that, too.
