Well, I didn’t watch the thing, but from what I’m reading the Democrats apparently gave a full-throated condemnation of racist AmeriKKKa last night. I’m sure that’s going to win them lots of swing votes.

Last night Trump told reporters that he would be issuing a pardon today, a yuuuuge pardon, but wouldn't say who. Twitter was full of breathless speculation - Assange? Snowden? Nope. Susan B. Anthony, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. Troll level: Olympian god.

Reply to JCM in 5: Surprisingly, the lefties don't find it amusing. The best part, of course, is that they can't object to honoring a feminist icon. Cognitive dissonance makes their little heads explode.

Had a vision the other day of Fauci as Malcolm McDowell, leading his medical droogs---all masked, of course---for a bit of the old ultra-virus.

Reply to lucius septimius in 9: I'm sure someone is tweeting that right now. IMO, you can't be pro-trans and a feminist. Trans rights are about men pushing their way into women's spaces and women who feel so devalued as women that they'd rather be men.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 13: There may not have been an overt "racial motive" in the Hinnant killing---but of course the Hinnant family would say so regardless, because they live next door to the killer's family and have to deal with that. Then there is the fact that "motive" is not an element in murder, despite what people have falsely learned from "Law and Order" and similar shows; intent is, and you can't get much clearer intent than an adult putting a gun to a five-year-old's head and pulling the trigger. It is, of course, entirely possible that Darius Sessoms was simply some kind of crazed loon---but, much as we all like to pretend otherwise, "hate the white folks" is a widely socially-acceptable outlet for crazed-loonhood in the black community; one can see this in things like the "knockout game," the rhetoric of many black "racial advocates," and in the comedy work of Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock, among others. To the above, I would add that the pre-arrest pictures of Sessoms that appeared in the media had him sporting the orange jumpsuit of the incarcerated criminal. So far, the minimal news coverage of this incident has managed to avoid considering, let alone discussing, what Sessoms did to merit this mode of dress, and whether it was even appropriate that he be free to walk among law-abiding citizens.

Given that Kamala Harris's meteoric rise in politics (hey, don't meteors, by definition, actually fall?) was apparently initiated via her, ah, special relationship with Willie Brown, the title for her political biography should be obvious: She Schtups To Conquer

Idiot on the local news: "Blacks were only granted the right to vote 55 years ago." Reality: The Civil Rights Act protected rights that already existed from infringement. Black men voted in non-Jim Crow states 100 years earlier and women from 1920.

Were there barriers to blacks voting in Jim Crow states? Absolutely; both poll taxes (head taxes) and literacy tests---but there were always a handful who actually did vote. The Civil Rights movement existed for the purpose of expanding that handful, and removing the barriers to the general population.

I'm sick of wearing a mask, too, but when where I work requires them, and go to great lengths to stop COVID, doing things I'd never expect them to do, I think there is more to it than we are being told. Note the people who run where I work have at a minimum Top Secret SCI clearances.
